Superman Playing Cards

I got 16 different decks for our annual family Christmas gift exchange. After my adult kids and grandkids picked, stole, and finally settled on their favorite decks, we spent hours playing a 16-way solitaire game around the cleared dinner table. It was a fun and memorable Christmas Eve, especially since my adult kids grew up with Marvel Saga, Harry Potter, DC, X-Men, and more—all represented by theory11 decks.

I have multiple theory11 decks and love them all; I just received a Superman deck today, and it is probably my favorite. The box has this look and feel that's incredible. The attention to detail on the face cards is what makes them my favorite. I'm really considering getting a second deck of these.

These cards are beautifully made and have such an amazing design. They really embrace the Silver Age aesthetic. You almost expect Curt Swan’s artwork to show up on the cards. The backs of the cards are so nice that I’d love to see a plaque-sized bas-relief made. I’d certainly purchase one for my wall. My only complaint is that the numbered cards don’t have unique designs, but the royal suits and Joker cards are so delightful that I can’t remain disappointed.

I am not a fan of card games. I don't like poker. I can't play euchre. I think solitaire is boring. But I love cards and I am a huge Superman collector. So these went right into that collection. I bought one deck to open and look at. One deck to keep in sealed condition. The third deck is for a friend who also collects Super-Stuff.

Yet again TXI provides an iconic experience from the moment the box falls into my hand. I am always impressed with the paper quality, that is a constant experience now. Though when I saw the real vintage comic book look to the cards themselves combined with the rich artistry for a true throwback comic book vibe I knew I gave into the right impulse purchase again. These go great next to my Avengers, Spider Man, and Dark Knight decks on my shelf!
