Excellent!
Illinois • Apr 7th, 2025I gave 5 stars due to Jason's teaching. It's advertised as an advanced sleight so I knew going in it would be awhile before mastering it. I do agree with another review that he could have spent time covering the actual counting but, really, there's no extra insight to be gained probably. You just practice. Jason admits he has big hands so it would be helpful to have suggestions for someone with smaller hands. I imagine, though, the answer is the same. Practice. Ha!
Iowa • Mar 30th, 2021I couldn’t do a pinky count very well before this and I’m already better after watching it. He doesn’t go into detail about the actual counting which is kind of frustrating because that’s the part I have the most trouble with. He does go into detail on the grip and finger positions though, which is nice. I give it four stars because the actual count won’t take that long to get used to and he shows you the count in action from multiple angles. It took a few watches to get the count action down, which again, is kind of annoying. With all the good reviews Jason has I would expect he would go into more detail, but it’s still a good purchase.
Minnesota • Jun 17th, 2020Jason England is awesome, I was trying some new things and realized that I could not do a pinky count! It seemed so simple but I found out many people cannot do this. I am so glad I purchased this tutorial because after 3 days I am able to count further and more accurate using Jason's many tips. I favor sleights over new tricks, I can already perform the Various passes (Classic, Herman, Cover, etc..) however I believe that I can only improve by watching Mr. England.
Houston, Texas • Apr 11th, 2019Well worth it! Never totally understood the move till I watched this download. Buy it!
Omaha, Nebraska • Oct 11th, 2017This is a far superior method of 'getting a break' and Jason's explanations are detailed, clear and interesting. He touches on the history of the move and gives the clearest explanation I've seen for it. This is my third attempt at finding a good explanation of the pinky count and I've finally nailed the move. Thank you Jason! My only downside? I would have loved to see that this comes as part of the Foundations 2 package. Do yourself a favour - if you're considering this video opt for the full package instead. It's worth it.
Italy • Jul 1st, 2017The Pinky Count is a must-learn move. Jason teaches this utility sleight perfectly. It is so easy to follow and I can guarantee you'll be performing the move in no time. And once you've got it down, it will open up several avenues of strong magic.
Cleckheaton, England • Jun 19th, 2017I have been practicing the pinky count every day the YouTube way. Jason England's is way more slick. Back to square one. Look forward to practicing this sleight of hand.
Los Angeles, California • Dec 18th, 2016I'm a huge fan of Jason England videos. According to me, he's the one of greatest teachers. Another great tutorial. In my opinion the Pinky Count is a move that every magicians should know. Essential to get a deceptive and "easy" pinky break.
France • Jul 13th, 2016This is a move I've put off learning for a long while cause I found it quite difficult. Jason gave tips in this download that helped me to practice the move more efficiently and also helped me to see the value of this move. Definitely well worth it not just for the technique, but also the history and tips on the move itself.
Sweden • Jan 22nd, 2016Jason explains the history of the move, how to do it, ways of covering the technique and even advice on how to develop your hands to improve your overall card handling. Great tutorial, Jason England is one of the best magic teachers around.
London • Oct 5th, 2015I rediscovered the joy of card tricks only recently. I knew about theory11 because of its connection with J.J. Abrams, a director I'm very fond of, so I decided to start from there. I was lucky enough to choose Jason England's pinkie count tutorial as my first purchase.
Rome, Italy • Mar 4th, 2015In my opinion, the double lift as well as pinky count are the moves in card magic with the highest utility. If you want to be a great magician, or just a magician, then you cannot proceed without knowing the pinky count. Definitely a must get.
Bulgaria • Sep 16th, 2013This is simple and direct teaching. There are no super secret moves that make your pinky count automatic. You need to practice. The teaching is short as well, so move along if that puts you off. However, Mr. England's teaching is very clear and concise. He teaches you the right way to perform the pinky count and he gives you some excellent options for shade, that is why I give it 5 stars. If you want to learn the right way to perform and practice the pinky break, then get this now.
Kentucky • Jun 25th, 2013At first you may think this is a silly move but after learning it, you'll never go back to any other way you got a pinky break. After learning this from the great Jason England, it has cleaned up my card magic by 100%. It's a hard move but it's very practical and useful for every card trick. It's great and you need to get it if you want to make your card magic cleaner.
Illinois • Oct 14th, 2012The best move ever created. With this you can create miracles! What this does is allow you to get a pinky break instantly. You won't have to riffle the corner at all. Jason is also a good teacher.
Singapore • Sep 22nd, 2012The Pinky count has been a staple in my card magic for around four and a half years now, it has literally changed my magic! I thought I knew all there is to know about this move, until I saw this video! Jason England does the Pinky Count better than Darwin Ortiz! In addition, this video has invaluable insight on the move. Get this now!
Israel • Mar 9th, 2012Jason England is probably the best teacher on theory11. Great video worth your time and money.
Winnipeg • Feb 7th, 2012Very helpful!
Montreal, Canada • Oct 27th, 2011I'm puzzled by the low ratings this has received so far. I think it's an excellent download and Jason is one of the best teachers out there. Before I got this I was of the opinion that the pinky count was for other guys and that I'd get my breaks by other means. Having learned the proper mechanics of it from Jason I can now actually DO it whereas before I thought I didn't have the dexterity or 'touch' for this control. Although I'm not ready to use it in performance yet, it's now on my daily practice list and I'm seeing improvement day by day. If pushovers or strikes aren't working for you, or even if you just want to add another weapon to your arsenal then I recommend this download without reservation.
