This one surprised me, I thought it had something to do with a diminishing deck, but no; this is much better. I'm working on a way to pair it with Sleeper, and I think that the Sleeping Riot (haha funny title) is a tool to amaze people forever.
Wisconsin, USA • May 5th, 2016Riot is a very visual card rise but, angly. I was practicing the effect in front of the mirror trying to perfect the angles and improving it; then I would perform it live and see the reactions on other people. I like the look of the gimmick because it creates a good illusion of the card rising and it's easy to make.
England (Oxfordshire) • Sep 5th, 2015The simplicity and visual aspects of this trick totally exceed the fact that a gimmick is involved. I am only a hobby magician but at all my close up gigs this trick really creates a whole new level of visual magic. Ingenious gimmick.
Australia • Apr 25th, 2013I was a little dissapointed when I found out a gimmick was involved. Also there is no live performance. I have a funny feeling there is a good reason for that. Personally I don't think that I could get away with performing it live and it seems a little impractical. (I must admit I'm only a novis, but I learn very quickly and I'm not sure if I will use it.) Here in Australia, the spectators are extremely determined to catch you and are ALWAYS burning your hands and therefore it would require a lot of good audience management.
Australia • Feb 4th, 2013An awesome visual card rise! The gimmick is simple yet very effective. I highly recommend this.
UK • Dec 8th, 2012I recommend this trick because it is simple, original, and creative. New magicians will be able to pick it up quickly and experienced magicians can perfect and tweak it to their own style. Pros: The gimmick is simple, easy to make, and inexpensive. The trick is simple and clever. Full handling of the trick is explained. Cons: Modifications to the gimmick could improve the trick.
California • Nov 18th, 2008I have purchased most of Dan Hauss's effects and I must say this is my favorite. Takes a little bit of setup, but it shouldn't take about 5 minutes max. By far the best Ambitious Card Routine ever. If you like Dan Hauss you will love this.
oklahoma • Nov 9th, 2008This is a very cool trick, with a simple method. It does need some touch ups, but it's awesome. Take my advice, and invest in this trick.
Trenton • Nov 6th, 2008I think it's a great little effect. Simple to execute, direct in effect and it's a very workable gimmick. If you liked PANIC! you'll love RIOT. D.
UK • Nov 4th, 2008I watched the preview several times late last night, and I had absolutely no clue what was going on. The credits to Paul Harris implied the method, but it still fooled me. Incredibly visual. Simple in execution. While I am practicing (and you do need to work at it), I keep looking at it in the mirror thinking it can't really look that cool, but oh, it does indeed!
Tulsa, OK • Nov 2nd, 2008Amazing illusion. The method is brilliant and easy to execute well after some practice. I just got back from a party and tried it and got killer reactions. Only 4 stars because its a bit angly but that can be managed easily.
Indiana • Nov 2nd, 2008This trick is amazing! With no cover the card rises to the top, with only one hand. I am glad I bought this. I suggest you buy this, but there is a gimmick you need to make but for such a low price, definitely worth it!
