Fantastically made utility and well thought out. As others have stated, there is some mild noise made when using. However, any good magician can think of clever ways to divert attention so the noise does not cause suspicion.

I just got it and I really like it, it has thick smoke, doesn't look suspicious, works great, would recommend this, I was a bit surprised on how the gimmick is made but it doesn't mean it's a bad thing, just surprised. Smoke 2.0 is pretty cool.

Fantastic utility! A couple trick ideas are included but with some creativity it can make for an amazing addition to many routines.

This is one of the most useful and magical utility gimmick I have received. So far I have used it in just one neighborhood impromptu show and it is an undetectable killer. I think I will be ordering refills soon, not because you go through them quick but because the gimmick is so effective. The quality is great and it handles and works very simply.

By far one of my favorite tricks! I don't leave home without it. I owned both the original Smoke and now Smoke 2.0. If you have Smoke 1 and are wondering if this is worth the Upgrade, it is!

Great effect, super easy! I owned the original and now the 2.0 the upgrade is totally worth it as you don’t need to carry two markers! Highly recommend to any close up/street magician!

GREAT effect. Easy setup and I have never had any fault with the smoke production. The only thing is that the ink can dry up a little, However, you can fix that by putting rubbing alcohol on the tip. Again, GREAT effect.

Buy it! 2.0 is the no-brainer upgrade of the original Smoke, which I still keep handy, just in case. My favorite use for this gimmick is a burn and restore routine using a signed book of matches, but I use it a lot to enhance other effects as well. The latest upgrade (call it 2.1) doesn't include a charger, but integrated battery/juice refills, which is a bit disappointing, but they work just fine. By all means, get this routine enhancer.

Smoke 2.0 is a wonderful effect and can be incorporated into any trick, if you use your imagination. It’s simple and the design of the pen is so brilliant, that spectators will have no idea where the smoke is coming from. What I like most is that it’s silent and you don’t need to do a switch! 5 stars!

it is a useful and easy to use gimmick, my only complaint is that if you inhale hard enough to make decent smoke, it makes a crackling noise which, if you are in a quiet venue, wrecks the secrecy of it, if you are in a noisy venue no problems. I wonder if there is a way to pad the inside of the gimmick to lessen the noise - - - I will have to experiment.

Fantastic! Absolutely amazing! I have used this everyday since I’ve gotten it. You need to think of it more as a utility device instead of a trick. If you are looking to add a little extra triumph to your magic then I would definitely recommend this!

I absolutely love this gimmick. I have used it countless times and nobody has caught it. Another amazing thing about this is it looks just like a normal sharpie. One more thing, the company itself is actually super nice, I emailed them for a faulty piece and they were so nice and sent me a replacement free of charge.

Smoke is one utility device that all the reviews here are absolutely right about. I purchased the original Smoke several years ago and still consider it my favorite device. I did the upgrade that Smoke 2.0 provides myself. You will love it. More important for you to know is the INCREDIBLE customer service I received from Theory11 when I had a problem. It was amazing. None other like it.

This is a great device and hits really big when I use it. It is a bit of old school showmanship in a very simply form. It is easy to learn, easy to incorporate and you are off and running in no time. The only limitation to its usefulness is your imagination in how to implement it in your tricks.

There are a ton of ancestors and descendants of smoke devices in the past and the present but Smoke by Alan Rorrison is top-notch. Don't waste your money and time by reviewing and canvassing for another smoke devices. Buy this one and it's all worth it. Speaking of practicality and reliability, Smoke vol.1 or Smoke Vol.2 is the Champion.

I really like this device, its 'appearance' is so familiar that the audience don't suspect a thing and it does have the option of being used for any reveal. I have not had it long but i am sure it is something that i will use on a regular basis.

What a great utility item to have in your pocket that allows you to have an impromptu mind blowing effect. It adds such impact and mystery to anything you add it to.

For those looking for the straight to the point review, here you go. Smoke 2.0 is a utility device, not an effect or a trick. You can add it to any routine from Coin Routines to your favourite ACR. Alan also teaches a few effects on the video that you receive. One note is that this is not a tool that you can use twice with the same audience, as it increases the chances the gimmick could be detected. It is almost completely silent, and any noise produced by the gimmick is masked by natural sounds in your environment. I recommend to anyone who is looking for something to add a heavy visual twist to their routines. (A small side note, my gimmick came with some defects, I contacted T11 and they got right back to me with replacement parts. 5 stars for an amazing product, and 5 stars for amazing customer service.)

Smoke 2.0 is a reputation maker. I have three, no make that four solid routines I use with this. I carry it everywhere and I've carried it every day since the original Smoke came out. This is a mind blower; a must-have for any Street magician or Pro.
