Adding sound to videos and adding music

Hey guys i have a video camera and i don't understand when i record a video its mic turns on but when i want to put the camera in the usb port to make it into a web cam type device the audio wont work and also i have itune's how do i add music to my videos tried saving it to a folder but it wont work any suggestions on both qs

You need an editing programme, if you open windows movie maker you can drag a song onto the timeline and it will be added.

with itunes if your music is purchased through their store its protected and with every editing program ive tried it wont play the file
