Adelaide Fringe '08

Hey All,

Had the opening of the Adelaide Fringe last night,

It was incredible.

Sadly the weather was shocking so for most of the night I could do pretty little magic (Seeing I focus mainly upon cards) and with the strong winds and the rain didnt really work well.

But that gave us a bit of time to hang about, do a bit of Coin magic etc and have a few drinks.

Later on walked around doing a bit of Street Magic which went so well. Things like Bruised, Distortion (Which I had never performed before, and only decided to perform on the night), Invisible Palm, etc all went down so well.

Handed out a bunch of business cards, and already have had a few calls about some performances, and some teaching classes.

Didnt end up getting home until around 6am this morning, but it was an awesome night.

Got the 'Main' Performances next weekend where will be doing things like Sword Swallowing, Fire Breathing/Eating, Bed of Nails, Control etc.

After last night, I cannot wait until next week.

Few photos from the night;

Basically the 'Adelaide Fringe' is very similar to the Ed Fringe in Scotland (In fact many of the acts go to both)

Its a Month Long event where we have everything from the worlds best Comedians, Plays, Painters, Drawers, Bands etc and its just one big party.

The photos from last night were taken at a place called the 'Garden of Unearthly Delights' which is a section of parklands in the middle of our City which becomes a big Carnival Style area. Contact Jugglers, Circus Style Performance Tents, Bars, Street Performers etc.

Such a fun thing, and it was great to be an artist.

I was lookin in at performing at the fringe this year too. But I procrastinated too much and also talked myself out of it 'cos I'm know I'm not that good. Maybe if you could tell me the details of getting involved and I might have enough courage to do it next year. Let me know where and when you'll be performing again, it'd be great to come see you in action.
