Hello everyone.

I have both seen magicians write on forums and talked to alot of magicians that are saying that they dont do some tricks becaus they are either to overexposed or sold on the big magic sites like Ellusionist or T11 becaus there are so many people doing it and knowing it and they just like to do things that are not so well known and i have been one of thoes people aswell. Its quit sad becaus there are so much good magic on these sites so i decided to go out and performe some of the most over exposed tricks there is on youtube/internet/tv and the reactions were just as good as with any other trick becaus people are just not intrested enough to remember how its done even if they have been shown how its done nor are they going to spend money on a magic dvd when they can get a movie or even 2 movies for the same price if they knew there were magic shops online.

After i performed my "over exposed" tricks i talked about some magic in general with them and almost none of them knew who criss angel or david blaine was some did not even know copperfield, and thoes who did went like, yeah he walked trough the wall of china! i have no idea how he did that thats just amazing! and that trick has been really exposed.

Another thing is i see people are afraid of doing some tricks becaus alot of people are doing it and its very popular, i mean how many copys of a trick do they sell? i have no idea but it cant be extrealy many and how many of thoes who buys it does go out and performe?

I was thinking about this and how big the chance is that you meet someone who knows the trick or have bought the dvd when i was thinking about my other hobie wich is to play golf, and golf is one of the most popular sports in the world, still i never meet someone who plays golf.

So what are your thoughts about this? this post is not about exposure its more about people geting held back becaus they think its a problem.

i am with you all the way. no one is going to go home and type in everything they saw and actually get good feedback. they shouldnt even care how the trick was done if you are a good performer.

Thanks, man. Your post seriously has let me relax a bit about exposure stuff. You're right, how many people sit around and look up magic exposure? We only see so much about it because we are constantly looking for it!

Yeah i think we should all relax about the exposure and just pick up the effects we like and do them no mater what and dont think to much about exposure and that its to many people doing the same effect.

Its extreamly hard to find out how the trick is done if you dont know the name of the effect aswell and, first 99% of the people in the world do not know there is exposure videos on youtube, neither about E or t11. And people do not waste their time on looking for it. As i said one guy that i talked to, who was a doctor and if you are your atleast abit smart, and he talked about how great copperfield was and how hes been thinking about how he does his stuff, and still alot of them are revealed.

Even Copperfield said that exposure isnt a problem, i saw an interview with him acouple of years ago when he said that Times magazine exposed alot of secrets that he had in his show and the next day he did all of it in how show and still got the same reactions as usuall and he still keeps touring with the same effects so he said that that is a proff that people do not care or put it on their mind. and Times magazine is read and seen by alot more then a 12 year old kids youtube chanell.

And iv even seen alot of people not wanting to buy material from the big magic sites becaus they think that to many people knows them so they might run into a "full armed" heckler. Seriously i do not wish to insult anyone but have you seen most of the people that are exposing magic tricks on youtube? They probably lives in their computer chair and have not seen the sun for several years and they will probably stay that way. So how big is the chance that you meet someone at a resturant/bar/festival or something? well i would say zero.

I just think we should relax more and do what we want.
