I was searching YouTube, and came upon a video of Dai Vernon. With all the recent heat of exposure, I was wondering what everyone thought of this video.

Most likely. But we shouldn't just assume. It's good to think for yourself.

True that any rule in any art can be broken but that doesn't mean the outcome will be good. That's where the risk is. It might be brilliant but it might be crap as well The best part about his routine is that in "showing" people how it's done he's actually leading them further away.
