Best ring for magic?

Hello all,
I am new to these forums,a nd to magic in general. I have been practicing for about four months now. I was inspired by some ring magic acts, such as Garret Thomas, and was wondering what type of ring would be good. I currently use this little kiddy metal band that looks very... Unstartling.
I am sorry if this is in the wrong place, as I do not have the lay of the land.
If anyone could give me some recommendations for good rings to practice magic it's, that would be wonderful.
Thank you!

It's going to come down to preference, I think.

I generally look for certain traits. First, it needs to be slightly too big for my finger. Second, it needs to be highly visible, so people who aren't super close to me can still see it. Third, it needs to have a good weight for the sleights I use. Fourth, it needs to have an aesthetic that matches up with the rest of my image.

I've found most of my rings at ren faires, but I spend a decent amount of time at those. I recommend going to those ring places at the mall or whatever so you can put on several rings and try them out to see if they work alright for the tricks you're going to be doing. Then you can get an idea for the general style and metal you like to use and can shop online for much better prices.

The perfect ring for me would be:
1. Fairly cheap- If it gets lost or damaged I want to replace it easily
2. It should fit one of my larger fingers- There are multiple routines out there that require the ring to go from finger to finger. As was said earlier you may even want it to be a little big.
3. Buy a couple- I am surprised by the amount of ring routines out there that require a duplicate.
4. Make it a simple band- The most versatile ring in magic, in my experience, is a simple flat band without any stones ornamentation or extra bulges. Look at the ring advertised for Circuit and you'll get what you need.

I hope this helps!

Hello Josh,

Thanks for the information!

I've got a ring now-- this post is a little old, haha.

If possible, I can try to upload a little ring routine I perform later on.

Kind regards,
Owen
