i was just saying that my hand's might not do the thing that i like then to do . if you got big hand's you can do a lot of good moves but if you have not big hand's you can not do some magic that you like to do. but you might be good at one thing that no one can do with in this world of films...

Even though you might not have big hands jr, you can still do a lot of the same effects and moves that people with larger hands can do. It will just take a little adaptation, and more practice. There is a great video here in the Media section, where a kid with REALLY small hands is doind Amazing flourishes. It just goes to show that anything his possible. Just keep practicing all the moves. The only thing you might not be able to do with small hands is a classic palm, but you could just use a different type of palm like a gamblers cop.

Here is that video:

Agreed. Just keep practicing and you will find out your hands are bigger then you think.

Jesus, I have women hands,(or so my friends say) that means that my fingers are very long but my palm is skinny, I can do a lot of the standard sleights, but the palms are usually a no-no for me, just imagine, when I palm a card, the card easiely covers my whole hand, so you kinda get the point.

There is an advantage thought using small hands...it disarms the audience, most of them thinks that having big hands it's the secret, so when they see you with your small hands they are like "no way, he has so small hands!".

Get me?

thats not true no one i have come across has thought that the secret is big hands. Also, as other people said its a matter of practice there are only a few moves you cant do because of small hands but there are so many different moves that you can just do variations of a trick.

Anyway, that was a really good performance

My hands are the same, their huge but skinny, the windows in between my fingers give away a palm in a second. I still manage to get away with palming though.

I got massive bearclaws. HUGE Hands. and to be honest, they're is such a thing as too big. I found when starting that I couldn't do some slights because I couldn't bend my hands the right way to get enough to grip the cards....

Same here. My hands basically swallow the cards when I grip them and this poses a major problem when it comes to using proper form to my advantage. We have to do what we can with what we have got. I mean look at some of the one handed magicians.

But palming is more about misdirection than it is about how much of your hand can cover the card. You just have to learn to be natural with the card in your hand, and learn to ignore that its there. This goes for all magic, as you have to be comfortable with the sleights you do, and learn to forget that you are even doing them.

definitely agree here. It just means we need to do things a little differently. It means we need to work our hands a bit harder to bend them. It means sometimes replacing sleights sometimes. But There are definitely some benefits. Erdnase shift? No Problem....

Jr...i wish you could tune in to wayne houchin's website, he asnwered a question that was identical to this...

he points out about dan and dave, and even mr. asher not having overly large hands....

he also stated that its the range of motion, or constant practice that is needed to do some sleights and stuff...

small/big hands have nothing to do with it...you must continue to practice until you get it...

he even was tellin about a piece of what michael jordan said on a tv commercial....big point is NEVER SETTLE FOR MEDIOCRITY......

so keep practicing my friend..until you get it...
