Variations
There are two variations of the Blizzard Effect I like:
White Bikes: This is an effect that me and my friend found at a UK site, that is basically a smaller to carry blizzard effect. Here's the effect broken down:
- One odd backed (blue for example) prediction card lies on the table
- Performer shows the contrast between the red deck and the blue prediction and how the prediction card has one face, but the deck has many cards. Spectator selects a card at random in the fairest manner from a red backed deck
- Prediction card is turned face up and wouldn't you believe it, the cards match!
- The magician takes this a step further and changes the spectators card to the same colour back as the prediction card!
- The deck is spread to show that all the cards the spectator JUST saw are blank.
The deck NEVER leaves sight
Somewhat Clean Blizzard: The spectator selects a card from a face up deck and the magician takes them through a crazy ACR with an absolute kicker ending. The spectators card is found somewhere away from the deck i.e. shoe, mouth, spectators nostril (shush
). Performer then takes the effect one step further, clicks his fingers and the deck seems to lose all identity as it's faces are all blank!
I think I just made that up although it's hardly original/hard to do
I might work on a blizzard effect where both the faces and the backs of the deck turn blank, maybe when I get some time. Unless someone can point me in the direction of one that's been done already!
