Pulse One - A card is freely selected from a deck of cards, replaced and shuffled, all by the spectator as the performer looks away.
The Spectator is asked to spread the cards face up
The performer never looks at the cards
The performer takes the spectator by the wrist and finds their pulse, he then asks the spectator to hold their hand above the cards and slowly move from one side to the other and back again
The performer is able to tell when the spectators hand moves over their card by changes in their pulse
After narrowing the cards down to 5 or so, the cards are placed face down; only the spectator knows in which position their card is
The exact card is found by the change in the spectators pulse…
Copycat - The face cards from the deck are divided equally between the performer and the spectator, 3 red and 3 black each.
The performer makes 6 face-down predictions, one at a time, the spectator is asked to place in front of the performers prediction whichever they think is the same card… The performer always goes first.
At the end, all cards are turned face-up to reveal 6 perfect predictions.
Curtail - The spectator is given the deck and asked to shuffle before placing them down on a surface
The performer writes down a prediction and hands this to the spectator to keep hold of
The spectator is asked to cut the deck in half anywhere
The card cut to is turned over and the spectator is asked to reveal the prediction
Tell One - The spectator is given the deck and asked to remove any playing card and place it face down so that nobody sees it
They are then asked to remove another card and place it face-up on top of this card
The performer is then able to name the first card based on the spectators 2nd choice
Pariah - The performer hands a deck of cards to the spectator and asks them to shuffle the cards
The performer takes out a pad of paper and a pen, he writes down a prediction and puts the pen away
The spectator is asked to spread the deck face down on the surface and place their finger on the back of any card
The pad is turned over to show the performers prediction
The spectator is invited to turn over the card they have their finger on
The prediction is revealed to be correct
Falling Pariah - The performer hands a deck of cards to the spectator and asks them to shuffle the cards
The performer takes the cards and mixes them up on the table (face down)
A marker pen is introduced and the performer writes down a prediction before handing the pen to the spectator
The performer asks the spectator to hold the pen in the air above the cards as high as they can. He then asks that they drop the pen – nib-down – onto the cards anywhere
The prediction is shown
The card marked by the falling pen is turned over to reveal the correct prediction
Just like
Dead Pariah - The performer hands a deck of cards to the spectator and asks them to shuffle the cards
The performer takes out a pad of paper and a pen, he writes down a prediction and puts the pen away
The spectator is asked to think of any number and deal off that many cards
The performer turns over his prediction to reveal the named number written above a prediction of a playing card
The card stopped at is turned over to reveal the predicted playing card
Pariah Swami Alternative - Swami version of Pariah
Flash - The performer hands a deck of cards to the spectator and asks them to shuffle the cards
He then asks them to take any card out and replace it into the face-up-deck face down and shuffle the cards once more
The performer takes the deck, spreads the cards face up and glances each card from one end to the other as fast as he can before closing the deck
The performer stands back recalculating the deck for a few seconds before naming the face down card
Flash
Junction - The performer hands a deck of cards to the spectator and asks them to shuffle the cards
He asks the spectator to take out a card without looking and place it face down
Before the card is selected the performer states that this card will be the 4 of Hearts
The performer then invites the spectator to do the same; this time the card will be the 3 of Diamonds
The performer asks the spectator to remove one final card, which he states will be the Jack of Spades
The three cards are turned over to reveal the performers 3 predicted cards
