This was one of my last magic purchases for a while as I save up for some Monarchs. That being said, this is the other recently released trick that I bought that has a lot of hype surrounding it. Let's get to the ratings...
Method: 10/10
This trick is very great in the sense that you can start and end clean. There are multiple ways to introduce the coin gimmick and there are multiple ways to use (break) the gimmick while presenting. This is a pretty much bulletproof plot as most spectators will not expect a coin bend (usually they expect a vanish). Both the coin and your hands can be inspected before and after the presentation.
Instruction: 9.5/10
The instruction was top quality (of course). It was in depth in history and presentation. Most of the instruction is on the various ways you can use the gimmick with a brief "care tip" segment at the end to clean the coins. In my opinion the care tips were a little too brief (I couldn't get my coin very clean, but I found it's better to leave them dirty anyway). I also didn't really like the lack of instant streaming (the video access comes when you receive the gimmicks in the mail). I didn't have a big issue with either so I won't mark it down as much, however international customers might find more of an issue with it (if you're as impatient as me).
Price: 8.5/10
The quality is great (covered below) but I feel the price is still a tad high. When you first buy the trick for $50 you are provided with 25 high quality gimmicks. This comes out to around $2 a gimmick which isn't really cost effective. If you choose to really get the hang of using (breaking) the gimmick you will end up going through a good number of coins (and money) in the process. I chose to practice as I perform (which I had no issue with) and may work better with some of you. After your first batch, refills can be purchased for $29.95 which comes with another 25 coins. This brings the cost down to around $1.20 per coin, which is still high but is a better value.
Quality: 9.5/10
The gimmicks are really well made, they are also "aged" to hide the inner mechanics of the trick. Once you break the coin there isn't much to give away how the trick works. I suggest that the aging be left on (not cleaned off) to conceal the secret a little better, and in general leave it with a "circulated" look. The aging allows for the coin to be planted and can be "found" without raising suspicion. The coins are very durable and are surprisingly harder to break than you'd think. This allows you to leave the coins in a wallet or pocket without fear of it breaking and the effort required to break the coin means that spectators (in the off chance they even try) cannot break the coin (unless directed).
Overall: 9.4/10
This trick is pricey but worth it, in the reactions you will receive. If you aren't a coin magician don't be turned away. I usually perform with cards but this piqued my interest and paid off. It's a good trick, it's a great trick actually. If you are dedicated enough (that you are willing to spend a great deal for this) then you're sure to love this trick.
