Hi guys,

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo involving my love for (card) magic (6 years atm!).

I just can't find a good tattoo design or idea?
So, anyone an idea?

My only idea so far is to have a small indicator of the 7 of diamonds tattood above my heart,
because to me the 7 represents magic and the diamond suit represents me.

What do you guys think? Too "gay":D?

Here's an idea, don't ask random strangers online what you should have on your body for the rest of your life. If you cant find something you want to get tattoo'd, don't get one. My general rule is, if I find something id like to get tattoo'd I put it up beside my bedroom light switch for one year. I then have to look at it when I wake up, a number of times during the day and last thing I see at night. If I still want it after a year then I'm confident it wont be a mistake.

And I think it was ozzy osbourne who said if you're thinking of a tattoo and you want to be original, dont get one. Keep that in mind.

I love tattoos. I have two as of now. Neither are magic related, however, I am getting a magic related tattoo at the end of April at a tat convention here in Galveston, Tx.

Honestly, a lot of people will get mad at you for asking for ideas on a forum. I, on the other hand, think its a good idea. Sometimes you need a little boost to gain some inspiration. I won't give you any ideas but I will tell you something that will help a lot...

Get on your computer and print a BUNCH of pictures of different cards, back designs, aces, court cards, jokers, pips and anything else card related that you like. Then, go around to some tattoo shops and talk to different artists and look at their work. Once you find an artist that youd like to do the tattoo, give him your printed pictures and give him kind of an outline or general idea of what you're looking for. This way, he has pictures of designs you like and he can draw up something that you'll like, rather than just spitballing and hoping you like it.

Also, don't be afraid to turn down his drawings. I promise you, he will respect that and work with you to ultimately come up with a tattoo you'll never regret.

If you have to ask an Internet forum what to get as a tattoo then chances are good you probably shouldn't be getting one.

Tattoos are incredibley personal things And one you should think through for yourself as they are for life.
