Just looking for an opinion about different cards.:p rank these cards from best to worst in overall handling, durabilitly, looks and value for money : guardians, shadow masters, regular tallys, regular bikes, centurions, brown wynns, ghost, bicycle masters and splitspades lion. im pretty into theory11 decks but my teacher took my brand new 1 day-old guardians and handed over to her fat aunt for her gambling sessions ... never gonna get them back and i was looking for an opinion for my next purchase.:D

Hmm, yeah a good idea would be reading the reviews. However, reviews are based on personal opinions. If you don't trust the reviews, get every custom deck and test them out.

No one can really tell you what cards to get because everyone has different preferences. If you have the funds, get one of each and decide... I have been into custom decks for about a year now and I haven't been able to get through every deck thoroughly so just take your time.

just go with regular bikes, you gonna feel the most comfortable using them since is cheap so you won't refrain from doing some routines that wreck the cards. Tell the you the truth i love custom decks, but for me i tend to look at them then actually playing with them XD

I prefer tally-ho anything...but every deck made by theory11 is worth the money... ghost decks collect dirt and bend easily...the masters deck is also worth the money...

It amazes me how much effort is put into discussion of such highly subjective thing like card quality. I mean there are numerous forum threads dealing with this totally uninteresting subject.
Another thing is the hype created about certain cards. Everybody who knows something is using tellys?? I wonder if this really is due to experience and experimentation or the hype. Top names in magic still use good old bikes and don´t complain but this new generation is very sensitive to card stock and different finishes...hmmm...

I'm sure that the "Old generation" didn't have such a huge selection of cards. Anyone can get a bunch of cards nowadays (Steamboat, Aladdin, Arrco, Bicycle, Tally-Ho, and Custom decks) and try them out to see what they like. I can tell the difference between Master's, Bee's, and Bicycles and definitely have a preference.

OK buddy, since no one is really giving you a straight answer to your question, I'll give you what you were simply asking for, an opinion. I'll list each deck starting from worst to best using the criteria that were important to you with pros and cons.

Guardians:
Pros - fairly durable, unique darker color scheme for face cards, good for cuts.
Cons - warps easily if you're not careful, not great for fans, pricey custom deck

Bicycle Masters:
Pros - thick stock, great finish for fans, durable, won't raise suspicion for magic
Cons - basically paying a lot for souped up Bikes with a fancy ace

Brown Wynns:
Pros - elegant, minimalist back design, great stock, good for cuts
Cons - will not fan well, jumbo indices

Bicycle Rider Backs:
Pros - the industry standard, inexpensive, good all-around performance
Cons - inconsistant quality, a little boring

Centurions:
Pros - thick stock, stiff, great for cuts, decent fans, durable
Cons - pricey custom deck, ace of spades a little boring

Ghosts:
Pros - fantastic finish, handles great, dream to fan, beautiful ace of spades
Cons - edges pick up dirt easily

Split Spades:
Pros - fantastic finish, stiff stock, cuts and fans great, awesome optical effects on the ace of spades and jokers
Cons - really expensive

Shadow Masters:
Pros - fantastic stock and finish, best handling custom deck, effortless fans, cool shadowed graphics, would've taken first place except for...
Cons - very expensive, black deck may raise suspicion for magic.

Tally Ho's - the winner:
Pros - great finish, consistant quality, durable, great all-around deck that does it all, best bang for the buck, especially the Q1 Tallys.
Cons - none

Again, this is only my opinion, which I'm sure will be different from others out there, but you wanted a lttle guidance for your next purchase and I hope this helps. If price is not an issue, go with Shadow Masters or Split Spades, which are great enough to more than justify the premium you will have to pay. But you can't go wrong with Tallys and their value factor put them on top.
