I found this thread on aging coins, but I am looking more for a resource on cleaning coins. I have 2 Kennedy half dollars and a Kennedy shell half, and they're just a bit grimy. After I shine them I may age them. How do you clean your coins? Is regular jewelry polish OK? Let me know.

I just used vinegar and salt to clean my coins. it worked magically. haha it could be that their 'magic' coins who grow wings and turn invisible to fly from my closed fist into someone elses.

but their as shiney as if i got them straight from the mint, (maybe not but close!)

You can always get mint (shiny) half dollars on eBay for like a buck. I imagine your shell is shiny, right? (what brand shell is it?) That way you get shiny coins, and they match your shell.

How does a shell get dirty? ....hmmmm

did it come that way? My shell has stayed shiny because I keep it in a Gemini Pouch when performing, and anytime else they're on my close up mat.

There are many ways to clean a coin. Do you want it bright? Do you want it dull? It depends on what you want.

You can use any silver cleaner or metal cleaner like Tarn-X or everyday items like crest toothpaste, ketchup, vinegar and Coca Cola can clean it.

Let me know if you need any help. PM me or email me.
