Click Bending

I live in a relatively humid state, but my cards stay nice if I wash my hands everytime, use a porper, etc. But every so often when I take my cards out of the porper or just use a deck they are bent slightly from springs, so i bend them the other way and they "click" the other way. I saw remy post how his cards never do this because of his case, is there any other way I could keep it so my cards don't do this?

If you live in a hot place try to refrain from storing them in an over-cooled place as it will put more strain on the cards, cool is good but not alot colder than room temprature, it will definitely warp them if you keep them in the fridge then use them in the heat.

yo, stop doing lepaul spreads!!!! lol

also you don't need to bend them that much to do springs. also switch hands, and direction of deck, so that as you do springs it doesn't pick up too bad of a bend.

it can help if you jam a couple extra cards in your porper too. get em REAL squeeze!

I usually keep my cards on my desk ( my blinds / shades are closed ) so no sunlight gets to them, but today i tried putting them in a drawer to see if that will help. When I open a new deck or any deck there is always the jokers and add cards in there so that makes them a tighter squeeze

clicking

The part that sucks for you is that you live in a humid state, the reason why the click is because the middle of the cards, lets say tally-ho fan backs the fan gets stretched and the stretched portion of the cards can't fit in the same surface area as they did before. it does take quite a bit of stretching to get to this point, but it doesn't take much if you live in a humid area. But the problem is when you bend them the opposite direct you stretch the "fan" portion of the card more and more, if you have done metal work this is what happens. i am trying to figure out a way to shrink the portion that is stretched, because this will fix the problem. just trying to help you find the scientific way of why this happens so you can fix the problem.

This happened to me when I left my cards in the window sill in direct sunlight and all the moisture must have evapourated from the deck and that's what made it really stiff and caused a "click" when I was using them. Playing with them for a bit broke them in, I just avoid direct sunlight from now on and they are generally fine.

yeah, climate's a big thing you have to take into account. I always put my cards in a spot in my room where no sunlight can hit it. Also, my cards are put in so that that they are tight, but not too tight where as it's impossible to take them out again. It's kind of like having a bunch of porpers for all my good cards.

And yes, as stated above, another way to get rid of a click bend is to kind of "re-break" them in. Just play with them for a bit and it should go away....coincidentally, my Brown Wynns got a click bend yesterday (I'm on vacation so I don't have my card box thing with me) and I just played with them for like twenty minutes and they were fine again.
