Just got my CB+ today. You get one half of an 'Oreo' cookie, 2 rubber bands (like orthodontists may use) and a business card with a website to go to for the tutorial and the password for the site. The site was current and the password worked. I have left out the password here, lest I get called out for whatever. https://vimeo.com/taiwanben/cbplustutorial
The video tutorial has written instructions on the lower left of the screen for you to read as the magician shows you the trick. This caused me to have to pause the video to read lower left, then switch my eyes to the right to see what he was doing. Not a big problem, but trying to read to the lower left AND watch him at the same time didn't work.
Also, there is the Chinese/English translation barrier. The English was ok, but did leave a word out here and there which makes things confusing for a second or two Fortunately, I have a BA in English and could catch the gap in language pretty quickly. Others may not. Yap could have at least had a native English speaker proofread his work before publishing the tutorial video.
The tutorial portion of the video is shot from over the magician's left shoulder. The entire video is 5:04. See the other Oreo videos on You Tube for more ideas.
My total cost, with shipping, was $18.54. I have seen them in bulk of 100 or more on-line for as little as a dollar and some cents.....shipped from China.
I would like to see a 'Double Stuff' version as the extra white in the middle would make the trick stand out more I think.
Also, you can see the off white rubber bands when the cookie is in the 'bit' position. Taking a black marker and coloring in (just a dab) the rubber bands on the 'hinge' area of the cookie will help. 99% of people would ever catch it though.
There are other routines on You Tube with actual, edible Oreos that would go great with this trick, so you could sort of build up a 2-3 cookie trick routine. Would work great at a gathering where everyone brings something for a pitch-in dinner and you just happen to bring Oreos as a dessert with your other food. (the set up).
The gimmicked half oreo you get with the trick looks DEAD ON an Oreo cookie. It is NOT examinable by spectators (maybe smaller kids could look it over, thus making their parents believe it is real). Some less than perceptive adults may still be fooled by it too.
I do NOT use the blow technique to make it spring back to a full cookie, it's too easy to see the spring action. Instead, do a "magic sneeze" on it as a distraction and also..."blowing goobers" towards it will make people less likely to want to examine it. Again, see techniques on You Tube (many by children doing the trick).
Finding a way to at least eat part of the real cookie (you use 1/2 a real Oreo and the other 1/2 the gimmicked cookie) in your routine will add realness too and stave off the ones wanting to see the cookie. The trick is self-loading and self-reloading. Worth the effort, esp. with kids. You can learn the basics in literally 2 minutes or less, adding the other parts mentioned above from You Tube is pretty easy also. I am NOT a magician at all by the way, used to mess with magic as a kid is all. Slowly looking for GOOD tricks that take little practice.
