Does anyone know how to create their own website?? I would like to start up a site for myself so I could put my magic videos on there and talk to other magicians there and stuff.

Any help here?

Yes. Everything is very easy to use. If you know how to create a website from scratch then I would recommend that but if you don't know how then freewebs is definitely the way to go. Freewebs allows you to do a lot of things to your site. Check it out for yourself.

Alright man, since I've moved off of magic and more into other things, especially website design and marketting, I'll help you out.

There are many options that you have depending on where you want to go. You could use one of these FREE site makers.

Piczo

Freewebs
Blogspot

These sites are okay, and they'll offer you a free site which is mediocre at best and with a "yoursite.piczo.com"or .freewebs.com domain name. This is fine if you want a personal site, but it is very unprofessional and will turn many people off.

Here is what I recommend you do, it will save you alot of trouble and will give you great results for a mere 34$ a year. I use a web hosting company known as Adelais, they are great and cheap offering a good hosting plan for $2 a month. You can also register a domain name for $10 per year. And that's it you have your site set up.

Now if you have no experience with HTML or other coding languages, you can either learn it, hire a coder from GetaFreelancer.com or use a content management system.

A Content management system (CMS) is a very handy tool which allows you to build a site while it handles all the code work. Most cost money and go from $150...and up. But Joomla is amazing and completely free. It powers many very succesful sites and I've used it for a very long time and it has never failed me.

If you need help, just post your question here as I'd be glad to answer it.

Good Luck

Hey everyone,

I'm going to close this thread for 1 of 2 reasons:

A) This is not magic-related.

B) Avancer posted the almanac of creating website information, so that should be suffice.

In the future, if one has any questions about creating a web page, I suggest going on Google, and looking at some help articles or forums. However, if anyone has any further advice, feel free to PM James1Wise. We're just magic folk over here. ;)

Thanks,
-RA69.
