Ok, so I've been interested in this product for a while, and all of the reviews on theory 11 said it was great. So, I went to Penguin Magic, to see if they had it (cheaper shipping). I found the product, but the reviews said it was horrible! They complained that there weren't enough gimmicks in the package, the gimmick limits you're range of movement, it's loud, etc etc. So, who's right? It looks like a very promising effect.

It's really one of those effects that you either will be very happy with it or feel like you got ripped off, there really isn't a middle.

I'm in a love/hate relationship with it right now. I LOVEE the effect, it's amazing! Although the gimmicked version seems a bit impractical for an everyday situation. Not to mention you really can't perform this when it's hot because you HAVE to wear a jacket of some sort and that won't look natural if it's 98 degrees and you're wearing a jacket lol.

There is an ungimmicked version of this effect BUT it requires a little bit of set up to the bottle and doesn't crush as fast or as well as the gimmicked version.

I wear jackets all the time so that's not a problem for me, but I was wondering if some of these reviews are legitimate http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/2097#reviews

Many of them complain that some of the gimmicks on the dvd are missing, and that the gimmick is very loud. These were my main concerns when reading the reviews for this effect.

I was just a little confused, because the theory 11 reviews are so positive: http://www.theory11.com/tricks/crush-by-eric-ross.php

Are there gimmicks missing only if it's bought from penguin magic?

I have heard from theory11 that some items were missing, I didn't have that problem, but that's an easy fix anyways. Just submit a ticket to theory11 and they will send you any missing items, free of charge I'm sure.

As to your other questions, the gimmick does make a bit of sound, this is not something that would work in a dead silent room. If you're at a friends house with music or a tv in the background you should be fine or if you're out on the streets you should be fine. Just dead silent rooms would be the bad place. I hope that answers your questions.

Any more questions? lol
PM me if you'd like.

Not true. I did this with many bottles and it completely crushed a Monster can.

Ok let me rephrase it. It SOMETIMES crushes completely. Although sometimes it doesn't not to mention takes much longer than the gimmicked version. I too have crushed a can completely though most of the time it just crushes a little.

Its ok. I dont really like it, but I can see someone working this in the real world. The ungimmicked version is easily comprehended by laypeople as more of a science experiment than a magic effect. The gimmicked version is impractical, and does limit your movement. But its ok.

what effects could i do with the gimmicks on? does it limit your range of movement like rizer, or can you do more tricks with the crush gimmick on???

it limits the movement of you substantially. You can only pull up the sleeve of one arm, technically. On the gimmicked other arm you might be able to pull up the sleeve and the gimmick at the same time. Bottom line, (In my opinion) If you're gonna perform Crush as part of a set, do it ungimmicked. If its just a one time thing, then by all means, do it gimmicked.

Ps. I used to love this effect, but for some reason, it doesnt really hit lay people as well as I anticipated. Once again, I think they interpret it as a science experiement and not a magic effect.

can you do ANYTHING with the crush gimmick on. I understand what you mean, because rizer has the same problem, but you can still do various effects with the rizer gimmick on, but can you do any card trick, coin trick, rubber band trick, etc..... with the crush gimmick on???????????????

You can do other tricks and routines with the gimmick on, it limits you but not to the point where if you're wearing the gimmick you can only do Crush lol!
