Different Handlings of Old Tricks

I was just wondering...who performs tricks using the handling exactly as it is taught? Sometimes I'll change up the handling for some card tricks that feel akward.

Does changing the handling necessarily change the effect? Sometimes the handling that is taught just doesn't work for me...depends on the trick, though...

Any thoughts?

I think that every magician should use the handling that's best for him/her. Why should the magician use a handling that he/she is not comfortable with? I almost always use a different handling because although the handling of the creator might be very good, I simply like to use something that I feel comfortable using.

It doesn't change the effect, it changes the way the magician feels when performing the effect.

Well I usually change parts of flourishes to make it false, or fits easier for my skill level. Most tricks I try to learn it as it's taught because it's best to learn it that way. But, I do often change tricks around, like Kaos, I changed the handling a bit using stuff from Brian Tudor. So, I think everyone usually does.

Make'm different

I have changed the handling on so many different card effects so that it fits my way of using a deck (holding, dealing, licking, whatever) It really can help make trick look natural. However it does not change the effect if the audience comes to the same conclusion as the original. Than it is just a better handling for you. Good luck Morph More Magic wait that’s an alliteration. Sorry need a quick fix of the pack. :D
