VIBE is a really neat way to perform many different miracles for your audiences using a deck of cards that require absolutely no skill, and are all almost completely self working.
Bob Solari shows you how to set up your VIBE deck, because you’ll need to gimmick a standard deck of cards, which will take you about ten to fifteen minutes to do a whole deck, but after that’s done you’re set to go for performing. Bob also shows you a few different ways you can set your deck up to so you can find the one that works best for your style.
Bob showcases a couple different ideas that you can use the VIBE deck with including one adaptation to Out of this World, he calls it Out of This Galaxy, which is quite nice. Using the VIBE deck you can separate an entire deck into two color stacks flawlessly after it’s been shuffled by a spectator with no setup, and this can be done blindfolded even!
The gimmicked deck is useful in other ways too because it’s not like it’s something that you use for only one trick and then have to put away. You can incorporate the VIBE deck into other card routines that you already know how to perform, or you can perform other card tricks using the VIBE deck as a normal deck of cards. It’s quite versatile in that regard.
Practicality wise the VIBE deck is pretty useful. It can integrate into existing card routines, you can pull a card out of it and use it in other same back decks as a key card, or it can be used as a standard deck of cards, as I’ve already mentioned. It’s sort of a Swiss Army Knife of cards, and the ease of use and self working nature of the deck makes it a brilliant choice for beginners too. Set up time is minimal, so long as you’re aware of how you keep the deck oriented, and it consumes about as much space in your pockets or close up cases as any other normal deck of cards would. For close up performers, street performers, and strolling magicians this deck will give you a wide range of options from opening routines, to closing effects and anything in between. The only real drawback is that you have to be careful of how freely you let the spectators handle the cards. It’s not a deal breaker, but some attention to audience management will be required. I really liked the VIBE I got from this DVD. I’d recommend it.
When I give my product scores below I am measuring them on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 Being absolute the worst score possible, and 10 being the absolute best, making a score of five average. The four points that I grade upon is Product Quality, Teaching Quality, Sound & Video Quality and Overall Quality.
