I was looking at the latest deal they have on there website,.

The Street Magic special or something like that.

Well apperently

"Pull a playing card out of thin air"
Your hand is empty and then you slowly and visible pull a coin out of thin air... inches from someone's eyes."

and

"Use mind control to make your friends deal cards"
Using "mind control" that we will teach you, force a person to deal the exact cards you want them to deal. They are holding the cards and they shuffle them - but it still happens. It's completely impossible - which is why we call it "Chance Zero."

Ok so the first one they teach you how to pull a card out of thin air that looks like a coin?

and the second one is just way misleading.

Is anyone else against lying to sell there products? i mean come on. That is way out of proportion.

They're human, they make mistakes, too. Nobody (yes) has gone through all your posts, found all the errors (I'm sure there would be plenty), and created a whole new topic to point them out. It was an honest mistake, get over yourself. And about the second one... they have to make money somehow. I'm sure they're not outright lying- there's at least a little bit of truth in there somehow. It's called "hyping" and "advertising"... get used to it.

I think its a typo. They're supposed to teach you how to pull a card out of thin air not a coin. Yeah I agree that the second one is a bit misleading. They should have phrased it in a way such that consumers can understand it.

However, I don't think they are lying. The first one is just a typo. And the second one is a badly phrased description.

Lying isn't really the correct word here.

The first one is a mistake, but if you owned the DVD you would know that technically they do teach both the coin production and a throw vanish. Regardless, I think most people are intelligent enough to figure out that was a simple mistake.

As for the description of Chance Zero, that's what the audience percieves.

Of course, it could just be. I have a hard time getting worked up over this sort of thing.

Good to see I'm not the only one who thought so. It seems like kind of a waste of time to get worked up over a couple of adverts.

Because nobody is in ellusionist forum , Nobody there

And? Either way, if he waited to ask the question on the E forums tomorrow morning, I somehow doubt the time of day is going to affect it much. It's still kind of silly to point at a typo and call the person that made it a liar, no matter what position the sun is in.

Mods, please lock this topic. It's ridiculous. That's like saying for Control. "We all know we don't actually make our pulse stop. (We would die... so please don't consider that exposure.) Well... I guess Theory 11 is lying. I'll go and post that on the Ellusionist forums."

/sarcasm

Please guys, I swear that people on this forum LOOK for ways to try and start arguments about Ellusionist. I will have to agree with Steerpike. Guys, stop being immature. If you notice some errors, contact E by submitting a ticket. Don't come here and just make a thread about it. How are you helping at all? Also, saying no one is in the E forums is either a lie or a big mistake. People are on the E forums.

*sigh* Some people on this forum need to grow up.

Ahh, try posting this in the appropriate forum next time...over at Ellusionist. There is absolutely no point for it to be stuck here at Theory 11..

I agree with Doug, quit being petty over Ellusionist... If one does not understand that it is impossible to control people with one's mind to choose specific cards, that person shouldn't even try getting into magic.

(It is impossible... Only Derren Brown can do that :p)

(Joking, of course... :p)

Where's the mods when you need them?

We moderate when we can, however, you must realize that we do have work and school, and things of that nature. :)

However, I think that the "problem" here has been solved. If you have an issue with Ellusionist, submit a support ticket to their customer support, or post this in their forums, but no one here can help you.

Thanks guys,
TDA
