Exactly How Fragile is the Distortion Gimmick

Hey everyone, just like the question is just like the title says haha. I've been looking at this trick for about 2 weeks, and I've heard the gimmick is fragile. I also read a post one guy started saying the effect was awesome but the gimmick broke after an hour of practice.

I'd like to know

1. What you would rate the fragileness of the gimmick i from a 1-10.

2. The best way to keep it in good condition.

3. How long yours lasted before it broke or how long yours has lasted thus far.

I would rate the gimmick at 7 of fragile, well I take it out of the deck when I'm not using it and keep it by it self so it doesn't get damage and only put it in my deck before I know I'm going to a tricks. Well I had it for about 3 months and it's still like when I opened the mail packet....

Hmm... as with MOST card gimmicks, I wouldn't recommend using it as toilet paper. But, hey, that's just me.

A scale of 1-10 won't exactly determine how fragile the gimmick is since there's different criteria behind something being "fragile". So, it's hard to give an exact number, so it's all a matter of how you take care of it.

Best way to keep it in good condition is when your NOT performing with it is to keep it in the baggy that is given to you when you purchase it. And not to leave it in a deck, or if it's in a deck, shuffle, and spread the cards.

And, I ordered Distortion the very first day Theory11 came into exsistence and I still have mine. So, I hope that helps to show it can last a long time.

i still have my gimmick...and it was the first purchase i made here on T11... i bought it when its was the only effect here on T11 (i dont remember if its the first effect but im preety sure and i bought it a very long time ago)and its still in good condition...with proper care for the gimmick it could last you a lifetime

Hey Frodo.

The Distortion gimmicks are relatively fragile (but not so much that you should be worried about it). Houchin goes over how to take care of them on the DVD. I would recommend not handling the gimmick until you've watched that particular section. If you follow his advice, you shouldn't have any problem getting a lot of mileage out of the gimmick.

Still, accidents do happen. If yours breaks, submit a support ticket and Bryant will yell at you because it was clearly your fault. Seriously though, because they're handmade, there is a chance that some of them may be defective (we check for defects before we ship them out, but we're not perfect) and in that case, we'll send you another on the house.

But yeah, thanks Dana, I don't actually have the gimmick, but, it's fairly known, and I might actually get it.

1. This is a hard question to answer. If you take care of your gimmick, and follow the instructions that Wayne gives in the DVD, then your gimmick should last you for a long time.

2. Follow the instructions on the DVD, and store it in the original case that it comes in. Just like anything fragile, if you mistreat it, it will break, so take good care of it.

3. I've had mine since around September, and it still works as good as the day that I received it.
