False counting cards

Hi all,

I'm interested in learning card magic, thus understandably, I started reading books about it. I got several books until now and currently I'm going thru the "Everything Card Tricks Book" by Dennis Rourke.
I quite like that book, but I have some problems understanding the explanations of how to false count cards.

I didn't really see the point in false counting first anyway, but then I found a pretty awesome presentation by Lennart Green (imo a pretty great person) on Youtube (Lennart Green at TED, at around 16:50 he starts with some tricks that have to do with false counting) which really makes me wanna learn it.

Google didn't give me any good results on false counting cards, everything was just about counting cards in Blackjack, so my question is, if someone could recommend me some books, tutorials or videos (payware or freeware) about false counting for beginners.

There are a few places to learn Lennart Green's Laser Deal (the method in the video). However if you are just starting out it is very difficult. Truth be told if you have been seriously into card magic for 5 years it is still very difficult.

Well - as usual - it looks so easy, but thats no miracle when a genius like Lennart Green does it
I would be satisfied if I could do basic false counting, Lennart Green was just a pretty nice example.
