Hey guys,
I've been doing close-up magic (stuff from T11 and E) ever since I started about 2 years ago this summer. I've never done any stage magic and was wondering what it would take to get some (at least one) stage illusions in my repertoire. I was looking around eBay and found Snap Illusions (A stage illusion construction company out of the U.S.) selling the complete Metamorphosis kit for $695. Does anyone here perform stage illusions regularly or have a show? If so, do you have any advice for someone who's already familiar with close-up/sleight of hand magic wanting to expand to a stage show? Does anyone else recommend a stage illusion company they've had a great experience with other than Snap Illusions?

Thanks,

-Matt

Well lets see

First of all when starting stage magic, you can always start by taking your close up tricks and creating them into stage. Cards - Jumbo Cards, Coins - Stage routine with coins and or Jumbo coins, and so on. Then, some the things that are sold like that metamorphosis kit, can be hand made and cost hundreds cheaper, just got to know how to do it. When thinking stage think in the sense that it must not only be appealing to the eye, but to the other senses as well, because many of the audience members may not be able to see EVERYTHING. All in all, have fun with it and don't get nervous. Stage magic can be nerve recking and some times especially when you go from the streets, to the stage. Hope it helps. - Caleb Fong

I don't know much about stage magic so I can't really help out, but I wish you the best of luck because I think stage magic is pretty awesome. I've only recently started to have a real appreciation for it.

Thanks.
Yeah, building my own Metamorphosis kit came to mind but I'm not sure where to start...
Do they even sell blueprints of big stage illusions with instructions on how it's put together and how it's performed?
