Gambling Magic

I have watched some videos of gambling "magic" and it really has peaked my interest. I know of Jason England's products on T11, however I was wondering of other gambling "magic" effects. Table, stand up, whatever sort of setting besides stage is perfectly fine with me. So any recommendations would be great, that has some sort of gambling background to it.

Thanks in advance.

I think you will probably need to explain a little bit more :), do you mean, things including cheating techniques that can be used as magic, if so, then something like talking, shuffling and retaining order is a good place to start.

Magic and Gambling do not mix, a Gambling cheat demonstration is good but Magic cheating demonstration is no good.

In a gambling demonstration you are demoing card cheating techniques which since the audience knows that there is a method it isn't magic.

If you are just looking for false cuts shuffles and the what not to be used in a magic routine and not a gambling cheat demo, I suggest Royal Road to card magic, etc.

I'm sure you could work the Invisible Palm routine into whatever gambling demonstration you're doing. Start with the gambling demonstration, then move onto how you can one-up the card cheats, or something. ;)

I guess I will need to elaborate a bit more. I don't mean to show any types of magic techniques or anything like that. Invisible Palm is on my list of effects for this type of category.

I am working on my 3 card monte, The shell game, something similar to that effect. I know this is scam "magic" but something that can be related to these sorts of effects. I am going to purchase the second, bottom, and middle deals and work these into my own effects. I have been looking at other effects and working a patter around into a gambling demonstration.

I suggest taking a look at "Ricky Jay and his 52 assistants"
It doesn't learn you the tricks or anything, but it's a good routine of what I think you're after.

Slowmotion and keen eyes can also get you a long way when you're wtching Ricky;)

That was very much what I was looking for. I have a lot of time ahead of me and I really want to get the sleights down, the demonstration he showed is something similar to what I want to do. I want to incorporate tricks usually listed as mentalism into my gambling set that will seem to enhance the effects.

Thank you very much Ola.
