Gambling party? Performance for sure.

So my dad is turning 60 ... yes yes the old man that he is. And my mother is having professional dealers come in and turn our living room into a casino, tables and all. My mom asked me to perform a little at the party, it's a perfect area to do so, so I happily agreed to.

Now my question to you is if anyone has anything they want to see performed? I know people like to see live performances and how other magicians do their routines, so I thought I would ask what people would want to see performed.

Now name tricks and if I know them I'll perform them, if there is too many I'll cut some out. Now it's going to be mostly cards however I may do some mental forces off Devil's Picturebook depending on how the night goes.

I can have my mom record so if they're are effects you would like to see let me know, and soon so I can routine, the party is on Saturday (2/23/08)

I do David Stone's "ghost" routine (I think thats the name) but it's basically the same thing, that was actually already in my set so for sure.

do a nice 4 ace production with a kicker type ending

like...idk after producing hte 4 aces in a cool "gambling" way i.e. on the table and such, produce all 4 kings in one quick production

The routine ghost (i swear thats wrong someone correct me) is an invisible palm routine done with 4 kings that transpose with 4 aces as the kicker, will that suffice or would you want to see a 4 aces assembly?

The routine is actually called Traveler. Ghost is the "impromptu" Panic.

I was actually going to say to perform Traveler so you took the words right out of my mouth. It is one of my favourite effects. :)

I think some table work would be cool. Maybe just set up a little table with a close-up mat and do some table work. Some of the moves and concepts on The Trilogy Disc 3 are really good. The blackjack production is jaw-dropping. It really is a great move.

I would definitely recommend that material. Good Luck!

And thank you for the correction on the David Stone bit. :)

anyone else feel free to contribute anytime between now and the next couple days

I would get your hands on richard turner stuff! great stuff, his double signed routine with the right patter.... anyway.

I would like it, beans, if you did a out of the box way to gather the coins, maybe the tape on the bottom of the card box or something and pickup chips from your "old man" I love doing stuff spec. have seen, but doing it as they've never seen it before...
