Hi everyone! It's a long time since I last wrote a review, and because I have recently purchased Genesis v2, I've decided to write one of those double reviews that I love.
Genesis v1 - Essentials
I purchased this as a download, and received a video that was almost 2 Gb in size... Watched it entirely, and completely fell in love... I really like the moves, the teaching, and how Andrei performs the flourishes... I'll go into more detail now!
Part I - The Basics
In this section, the very basic moves are taught, even if they're not easy. You'll think cardistry is not for you. I thought that, and you'll do so. But please, don't give up, you'll see how everything will be better with time!
These are the moves taught: Introduction (not a move, obviously), the Mechanics Grip, Charlier Cut (Very cool), Thumb Cut, Scissor Cut, Revolution Cut, Basic Angel, Widthwise Triangle, Lengthwise Triangle, One-handed Shuffle (this is VERY hard!), Thumb Propulsion and The Spring. All of them are very well explained, and I'm sure everyone will love them. 8/10
Part II - Fanning
This is the section I like least. I don't know why. I hate the Flower Fan, and I already knew the One-handed and Thumb fans... But this is very well taught too. 5/10
Part III - Elements
This is the best of all... Using the moves you learnt before, you create flourishes that will amaze people. 14 moves explained in intricate detail... Some of them are quite hard, but are worth learning. I personally love tetra. 9/10
Part IV - Original Concepts
I like this part, 3 new concepts are shown, along with some variations. ONE, REBOUND and WINGED. Nice stuff 7/10
Part V - Guest Appearances
Alejandro Portela teaches in detail a variation of ONE, and one of the Buck twins (I don't know who is who :S) teaches the Carnahan Fan, which can be learnt in the v2 of Trilogy, or as a separate DL on t11. 7/10
Conclusion
This is a very nice video, in which a lot of cool stuff is taught. The quality is incredible. 8/10
Genesis v2 - Structure
I don't know if you guys know this, but it is available as a DL already. The icon shown on the "tricks" page is a mistake. When I finished downloading it, I realized that I had not received a video, but a folder. That folder contained the 18 clips that can be found in the DVD, but without putting them together. I very much liked the idea, now I don't have the need to look for the section I want, everything is instantly accessible. It may sound something not important at all, but taking into account that the video is over 2.5 hour long...
18 clips, I'm going to rate each of them without getting into much detail, I don't want a 2km long post...
1 - Note from Andrei: a quick note to tell us not to share the video on the Net, since it's illegal and he has spent 6 months on that project... O.O
2 - Altar display : very nice way of balancing a packet on top of another one, kinda hard to explain... 7/10
3 - Atom: you make a triangle and have cards spinning around it. I like this very much, since I <3 triangles... 8/10
4 - Backhand Bullet Shot: don't like shooting cards, but this one looks good. 6/10
5 - Card in Fan (Recovery): we all know it looks amazing, check the media section if you don't. 8/10
6 - Classic: you create a triangle while shuffling the cards. THIS IS SICK!! 9/10
7 - Interlock Deck Split: the king of the deck splits. There's a video on t11... 8/10
8 - Interlock Delta Formation: Start with a IDS, end with a 3 packet castle in your hands. 8/10
9 - Jeff McBride: the father of card twirling teaches some basic flourishes... 9/10
10 - ONE delta: start with ONE, end with a delta. The name says it all. 7/10
11 - Pseudo Card in Fan: you throw a card into the air and catch it with a fan horizontally... Looks great! 9/10
12 - Rain Dance: combines two easy moves to create a increadible flourish. Easy and amazing. 8/10
13 - Revolving Angel: a simple move that you have to do very quickly if you don't want spectators to laugh at you. If done correctly, it looks very nice. 6/10
14 - Create a triangle. Turn it into a square. Create two triangles that form a rombus. And end with two triangles in one hand. Yes, one hand. This is my very favourite one... 10/10
15 - Stardust: looks nice but... don't like it much (check media section!) 5/10
16 - Trinity: take a triangle from the inside of another triangle, and the fuse them into one. Looks amazing. 8/10
17 - Twitter 2.o: Nice flourish, can't really explain it, it cannot be described... 8/10
18 - Winged Castle: A castle with a fan on it... Nice. 6/10
Concluding, this is a DVD that is worth buying! Very cool, and amazing stuff taught! What's more important, you'll start having some great ideas, and develop your very own flourishes!!
FAQ:
"Can I purchase v2 without having v1?"
Well yes you can... But doesn't make a lot of sense...
Hope you liked the review PM me if you have any question!!

...for this move, you're gonna need a move from v1. If you don't have v1... why are you watching volume 2? You won't catch a lot of stuff!
