OMG i need help, i really need to know if i should get the Gaff deck and army 52, or Dangerous...

Please in your reason of what i should buy, state why i should buy it..

Thanks.

And if you need to know my skill lvl... then im actaully pretty good at magic, and not so good at cardistry... but i would love to be able to do it.

Thanks

Didn't you have a Gaff+Army vs. Trilogy thread...coulda put this in here.

Regardless, if you still in the beginner range I'd suggest the Gaff and Army...Gaffs make simple things like color changes much better with something most people have never seen before...also if you don't know a ton of moves the DVD will teach you many routines using the gaffs and some sleights which you can use with other gaffs.

If you're intermediate in skill, seen the tricks on Dangerous and liked them I'd reccommend that...but with little knowledge of cardistry I wouldn't suggest Motion.

In the end I'd reccommend the Gaff and Army DVD.

Ok...well i have both of these and to tell you the truth I hardly ever actually use any of the tricks in Dangerous and the same goes for Army of 52. They just both are not really my style..

For Army of 52 it's all about gaff cards so you have to be set up for the tricks or ring in your gaffs some how. And for Dangerous you really need to connect with your audience to get any reaction.

I think that the teaching in both of these videos is really good. Daniel Madison and Justin Miller are both great magicians.

I would say that you should go with Army of 52 + Gaff Deck...Just an opinion.

Well... Firstly I wouldn't get Motion from Dangerous, it'll be too hard for a beginner; Mystique is a different matter. The effects in Mystique are just my type of effect, and I use about 2/3 of them regularly. They're not terribly difficult, but require good audience management and lots of performance practice. I'm not a gaff person on the other hand, so I generally don't perform gaff effects - however the gaffs themselves are quite nice as is the Army of 52 DVD. If you're proficient at card magic, both should be in your skill range, it depends what you think will suit you better - if you like gaffs go for it, keeping in mind the need to add/remove/carry gaff cards and to keep the deck in your hands - if you are good at/prefer/want to learn audience management, or just a few non-pick a card effects, get Mystique from Dangerous, there's a lot of card work that isn't at all impossible either.

Oh, and for the record I'd prefer Dangerous: Mystique.
