Grip

Hey guys, I have a question:

A lot of you probably have the opposite problem of me but maybe there's someone out there who understands. When I'm at home, my "grip" on the cards is perfect (like i have the right amount of humidity and sweat) so doing something like uhh... cardini change or miller cascade is easy and my fingers don't slide off. But... after I wake up in the morning, shower, and go to school, I have ABSOLUTELY nothing on my hands... its smooth as a baby butt no matter how much I warm up, and I can't do anything like the two sleights mentioned above because my pinky just slides off and stuff...

Does anyone have a solution? I'm envious of you people with sweaty hands :]

haha.. Sticky Hands.....

You can use spit.. but thats not really clean to do doing a performance. There is always having a wet towel next to you to wet your hands. You can run a lap or two so you get sweaty, before you perform.

I have dry hands. I use an old Nash technique with Sortqwik. Also having a cold drink around is also helpful. The moisture on the outside of the container being can glass or what ever will help with dry hands and its inconspicuous. All you have to do is grab, drink and boom you have some moisture on your hands.

I usually have dry hands. I've learned to work with what I have and adapt moves according to my hands. The one thing that I insist on is that my hands are clean before I practice or perform.

I know exactly what you're talking about.

Personally, and I don't know if this works for anyone else, but I usually just use my PS3 controller. After a good 30 minutes or so my hands get all sweaty. Good 3-5 minutes later my hands are in perfect condition all day.

Other than that, I'd probably just try using that same trick everyone else does when it's the middle of winter and they're stuck outside without any gloves on. Blow some hot air into your hands and rub them together a bit till they're sweat.

It usually works for me when it comes to most card related issues, but I still can't do Bone's Angel without some wetness on my thumb. (I could just be off my game, but something about that sounds a little dirty. Pretty sure I didn't mean for that to happen.)

Hope it helps.
