Guardian Problem Solved

I just got my guardians today.

Yes they are one way

Yes they come with a double backer

AND YES they clump, but theres a reason!

Its SUMMER and its HOT right now and guess where its even hotter...in the middle of the mailman's bag. And there is no AC for the mail room you know.

HEAT + Cards = BAD

When you first get your decks just leave it in the freezer, fridge for a few hours and thats it!

Some people have warped cards as well which is also a sign of heat just put it in a porper or put lots of books on it...or put it under all the the stuff in your freezer whitch is even better.

If problem still occurs use the freezer instead of fridge

If problem STILL occurs witch is unlikely just powder it. It might be because the finish may have melted a bit.

Either way these are relly good cards I've been using mine for an hour or so.

I'm sure if you buy yours when the weather is cooler you have nothing to worry about.

When you take it out it can fan but wait 5 minutes then farro a few.

Great post! Took the words right out of my mouth. I just got my Guardians in. I'm in Florida, and it's extremely humid here. It's probably hot where some of you are, as well -- so leave your Guardians in a cold room and let them sit for a few hours before cracking them open.

Just opened my first pack after about 2 hours and they feel fantastic. No clumping issues at all. The edges are rough at first, so it's difficult to Faro and such -- BUT this is normal in almost every Bicycle deck. The natural oil of your hands should smooth out the edges in no time.

That being said, I've been playing with mine for about 15 minutes and they already feel near-perfect.

What the heck are you doing here in Florida? Did you move down here? Anyway, my Guardians recently started to clump for a little bit. Right now they're resting in a Porper clip, which is what every magician should have when carrying their cards around.

On a side note, where in Florida are you in right now Jon?

T11's crew is all over the world. Haha. At least, sometimes it feels that way. ;)

I'm in the Central Florida area.

This may have been asked before, but I bought my guardians and have them in front of me. I can't see the one way design on them? Anyone want to help me out?

I didn't notice it either, until actually looking for them. The pegs on one side of the wheel, between the angels, are longer. And, those gray-bar-thingies are different sized on each side.

Personally, I thought the finish was dissapointing at first too, but, after playing with them for a while, they're fine. I'm definitely going to pick up some more, soon.

The double-backer is very appreciated too as I can now do several gaff effects without having to purchase some, "super-duper-gaff-deck".

Yeah, that's what I figured, but my normal bikes and the other deck I use don't have this problem.

I live in Orlando. I saw your myspace, are you still going to UCF for Hospitality Mgmt?

I'm doing the same. Most of my classes are at the Rosen campus on the West side of Orlando.

Wow, what a small freakin world. I just shot you a PM. And Jon, are you in the Orlando area? Maybe we can all do a huge jam session one day.

Sorry to hijack the thread...anyway yeah...Guardians...awesome lol.

Don't fall for it Jon. This is some crazed psycho who is just trying find a way into your bed room so he can steal your under garments so that he can sniff them as he burns down your house!

I too live in Florida and also assumed the clumping issue was due to humidity. However, I had a deck of Bees that was left in my car for a couple weeks and when I opened them they were fine. No clumping.
As a matter of fact, I keep them in my car as a back-up deck and they still fine OK.

I remember when the Vipers had this issue a couple years back and E fixed the problem

What are your trying to say and/or assert?:D

I'm in New York, and my guardians came a little warped, but after a few textbooks and some magic, they were fine.

However, my Ghosts are a lost cause, and E hasn't fixed that problem or acknowledged it.

Cheers,
JTM
