Half dollar shells

I was interested in doing a coins across routine. I have four regular half dollars but no shell. Would a Johnson shell be fine? I don't have the cash to spend for a schoolcraft so I was looking at a Johnson on penguinmagic. I have bobo DVD set and wanted to do a coins across since I think I'm comfortable enough with them now. Also, I hear you need certain coins for nesting but what is nesting? Do you need different shells for different routines?

I don't know why anyone didn't help you with this sort of thing. Maybe because most people here do cards.

A Johnson shell will do just fine. It's more than enough. The quality is great to a beginner.

As for nesting, it's basically when a shell can go in a shell.
And of course, certain routines do call for different "shell" variations.

However, a Johnson shell is fine. The only thing I'd advice you is that you're coins that are newer to compensate for the "shine" the new shell brings.

I could be wrong, but I think if you already have normal coins you'll need an expanded shell.
