Hand to Mouth Performance

I've realized something today: for all of our talk about what tricks are best and what we like the most and what not, it really does come down to performance. Today I was "in the zone" and was performing better than I usually do. I did "Hand to Mouth", usually not considered that great of a trick, and the girl I showed it to freaked out, literally. She involuntarily kicked over the stool her feet were resting on and he must have said "holy ****" seven times. She then rushed out into the hall and started telling everyone about it.

By the way, I then did another trick, Deja Vu. They liked it, but I now realize it would have been much better to just leave her with that original emotion.

"card to mouth" is a real worker, not sleight-heavy (I dont do the pointless force and the floop, I just do a ginastaire double) and it's different from the usual "pick a card, lose it in the deck and I'll find it" so I think its probably the most practical one on the DVD.

another tight thing to do is get a confederate, pass the card to them instead of sticking it in their mouth and have them walk around the back of your victim, plant the card in their hoody or between their back and the chair if they're sitting down. reveal at your pleasure :) even if the other spectators see what you're doing it becomes hilarious to them because everyone knows except the person you're pulling the trick on.

Are you joking? "Hand to Mouth," although not terribly difficult, is the ending kicker to my Ambitious Card routine.

"Oh... the top isn't your card."
"HA HA HA! You messed up!"
"Not really... I just made it jump a little TOO high."

Spectator looks up, jumps out of their skin, and runs away screaming. That trick gets AMAZING reactions from all different kinds of spectators.
