Head Drop Worth it?

Hey guys. i was recently reading a thread about halloween magic and the head drop was mentioned. Someone gave me a link as to where I could find it but I am not sure it is worth it.

It is a video for 5 dollars that will show me how to create the gimmick. Here are some questions I need... Oh the video was from pubtricks.

1: Is it a good illusion

2: Can I be surounded

3: Is it angle friendly

4: Is the gimmick noticable

5: does it put any strain on your body. (My back isn't that great.)

Thank you for the help,
Dylan P.

In a cave.
First off, there are two separate version of the trick. One is where your head falls off and one hand goes to your shoulder, while the other catches your head. The other one (performed by Cyril on national television) is where your head falls off and you catch it with both hands.

Both use the same principle, yet one is harder than the other. I will assume you are talking about "Cyril's version" (even though technically it isn't his).

1: Yes it's a fantastic illusion if presented right, but then again, so is the hot rod.

2: Both are pretty lenient on angles, but I wouldn't suggest doing it surrounded.

3: Again angles are rather lenient, it would not be considered the 'hard part' of the trick.

4: Let's just say you can't walk around with it on without arousing suspicion unless you don't mind having your coat or jacket on throughout the day (which may be the case if you are on a field trip outside in October, or you live in a slightly cooler state than normal.

5: Well, you might need to be able to hunch over slightly, but I definitely wouldn't call it a strain of any kind.

The hard part of the trick is really selling the fact that your head just dropped off. Changing one card into another is absolutely mouth-dropping material, but decapitating yourself (I feel) is another thing entirely.

Hope this helps,

thank you. And I was just wondering if you could give me a link to where I could purchase Cyril's version. That would be cool.
