Next time, fix your grammar skills. To improve your hot shot, going to youtube for tutorials is one thing. However if you did that as well as the Cardistry 101 from the trilogy (I assume that you have one). When you pull the card, push the corner with your middle finger and it will completely fly off. Hope it helps you.

Ah, the wonders of that crowd of people over there. Beautifull;

The hot shot cut is a very tricky move, but what it all boils down to it, all it is a a knack. If you have the cut down properly (which I would know If I understood what you were typing ) Then you have the basic idea down.

Sit down, watch television or read something, and whilst you do that, keep placing cards manually in the center of the deck and flicking them out. As with all knacks, practise will achive results.

Now, The problem may be that you're not executing the flick correctly - which is normall - it happened to me, even. Gosh!

Try to experiment with different grips of the deck, one way I find helped was to hold the deck between your pinkie and ring finger and the thumb, at the bottom of the deck, and have it slightly higher than mechanics.

That way, you have control of the outjogged card with both your middle and pointer finger. When you flick the card out, dont bend the card upwards. Try to maintain contatc with the card only by the tips of your finger,s, and rapidly curl them diagonally over the deck.

Sources you can also recieve pointers from are the Trilogy disk 3, by the Buck Twins, tutorials (unadvisably) on video sharing websites or (I believe) books. That's right, the things with paper squares cut out and attached to big hard planks.

The Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes is a great book, which I believe contains the mechanics of the Hot Shot cut. Jerry explains everything beautifully. Ben Salinas also has a dvd which explains the move thouroughly.

Hopefully, we may have changed your view of this forum. And the internet in general, because some of us prefer to have an educated conversation about topics that interest us and provide a means to better our understandings, something only feasable if your cohort has gotten over 'youtube comment' spelling.

Failing this, get back over to youtube - and while you're at it, see how much help they can be at bettering your Anaconda dribble.

you have to pull the card more than 90 degrees if that makes sense? haha, you can't just flick it out. The card has to be rotated between the deck first.

Cardbeginner93,

Don't be a loser. If you want others to help, stop complaining and be polite for once.

Also, 95% of flourishes require more PRACTICE than TIPS. No matter how many threads you read on the 'Net, nothing will help as much as REAL PRACTICE. Read that again.

About the hot shot cut:

-You can lick your first finger to be able to draw only 1 card out. Although not always practical, it works. Otherwise, experiment with pressure.

-Try the flick with the middle finger instead of the pointer.

You little stalker!
Trust me, this guy has never used a period or comma in his life.

Cardbeginner, it's possible to understand what you're saying but its REALLY hard.

Many people will have to read your sentences a couple times to figure out what you're asking. And through the middle of it they might go "A screw it, i have no clue what this guy is talking about. *clicks the back button*"

Therefore using periods to separate sentences will make your message a lot clearer and will in turn get you more help.

I do understand you're problem though, you type slow. I type relatively fast (Thanks to online gaming -_-) so i am able to type a lot. And i'm pretty sure many other people here type fast too. So if you type slow, take your time. If you really need the help, it'll be worth it. If not, dont even bother posting.

Aside from Mr.wardstrand's post (if i mispelt it, gimme a break, its 10 in the morning)

Try to use the PAD of your index finger, and move the card in a clockwise direction (if the deck is placed on your left hand) and use your middle finger as a pivot point.

The 'launch' is a knack too.

I don't even wanna read a post when you write it like that.

If you wanna learn, you HAVE to take your time. That's why.
