Hot Shot Cut

Should be smoother. Both the cuts at the start and the trick itself. The card should fly a further distance to really impress the audience and the catch needs work as well. Just all around smoother.

Thanks for the advice.

Now that it is in the cardistry section (Thanks Zach), I can comment now.

The sequence before the hot shot cut needs some improvement. Such as your card spring, your cuts and overall make the sequence flow together.

The Hotshot cut was alright, but as everyone else said, make the card fly greater distances. Usually around 2-3 feet.

Are you being serious? You cannot comment when it's in the wrong section? Or is that just your ignorance saying hi?

The hot shot cut is both a cut and a card trick, I think it's eligible for both the Cardistry and Card Magic Forum.

Now onto the video, it's ok but as many have said, the card can travel alot more than what you did, and it looks alot better when it does. Keep practicing though.

Also, try to make everything before the cut a little smoother, the whole thing seemed a little "choppy".

i can never catch the dam card haha

Ive been toying around with the Hotshot too, and after watching Dave with Kryptonite- i noticed that he always seems to hold his palm face up to let the card land on it- not to catch it, but to land on it. Ya dig?

Neither. He just wants to increase his post count.

Amen.

oh and, better get outta here before FOO:L brushes some verbal abuse again, Ive had enough crying in my room for today.

Ahh, he's adorable.

Funny, I didn't even explain what I meant by my post and if you knew what actually happened you guys wouldn't be talking like this. Probably because I forgot to add a comma, period, or capatilize something. Wow, real smooth Sinful07, AJ, and Tally.

MLB, i conciously ignore your posts nowadays. Think everyone will understand.

Anyways- Has anyone tried launching it somewhat sideways instead of paralel to the ground? Im sort of in that phase where it over-launches or doesnt get enough elevation. Kinda sucks. wondering if anyone else is encountering this.

I've actually been working on a way to boomerang the card around your body and have it land behind you (where hopefully you will have put your deck hand)

A lá Erdnase Go Rounder.

If you just elevate your deck hand so it points at a 45 degree angle upwards - not parallel to the ground - then the card will come back to your hand! There's a great example of this in video somewhere...

Just can't seem to place it...

Mystifyer, i have yet to see the hotshot cut, but from the reviews, im sure i'll enjoy it more than your usual magic videos. Good to see youre taking critisism well.

I just think its highly entertaining. Maturity over an internet forum-Lest over something silly. That's absoloute Golden.

Hasnt Jason Soll got some sort of Hotshot Variation?
