How Good are Daniel Madison's Products?

Hey everyone I've been interested in Daniel Madison's work for a while now and I'm just wondering what you think of his products. Since I'm planning on picking up some of his downloads off his site.

1)Do you think they are worth the money for the quality of effects they teach?

2)Also the description of the effects in many of his downloads seem very cool, but how well do they work in real life situations and are they practical?

3) Finally what are your favorite products by him?

Thanks for reading and any of your answers, alright later.

identity is definately worth the money... 100%... unless you already have some of his other pdf's in which case i think its worth it maybe 75%

I have one and i like it a lot but i don't use the material that often

I don't have two and i don't plan on getting it, But THREE seems amazing and i will definitely get it

The thing i dislike about most of his products is that most of the tricks aren't really impromptu... and i'm usually in a position where i have to perform impromptu tricks

Anyway... bottom line is if you don't have any of his products, GET IDENTITY

Daniel sends me all of his stuff and I'd definitely listen to these guys and pick up ID first as it's a really good compilation and is very representative of his style and technique.

By the time you get through ID, 3 will be out so you will be able to pick up the DM Trilogy. I won't need to sell that to you in the least as you will understand the great value for money Daniel provides.

I have all the pdfs that dM has released except ID, all the pdfs that arent going to be released anymore (including cardcheat handbook :)) and I luv all his stuff, all his products are practical, except R.I.P but maybe thats because I dont have the ''device''.. the only thig you gotta do is practice, and its hardhitting magic :)

Frodo,
I will give you my point of view.

1)Do you think they are worth the money for the quality of effects they teach?

I do feel that they are worth the money. I think he could charge more.

2)Also the description of the effects in many of his downloads seem very cool, but how well do they work in real life situations and are they practical?

I find that most of Mr Madison's work is usable in a workers environment. If you are looking for some good slight of hand and good use of gaff's as well, then you wont be disappointed. If you like XCM his Lethal DvD is nothing less then a work of art.

3) Finally what are your favorite products by him?

I would say that Lethal is my favorite for XCM it is simply mind blowing. I find something new on there every time I watch it. For card effects I would say ONE. The BLOOD marking system is the one I use the most. It can take your card work to the next level.

Cheers!

I would say Daniel's effects are awesome.
I only own one of his products, One Lecture Notes and they are superb.
Definitely worth the money and I can say that this is one of my favorite magic buys ever.
The effects aren't so hard, some things may be hard to understand like Cameo 3's explanation but you will figure it out...its just like a read it 2-3 times and you'll understand sort of thing.

It has been said before but his products are great. Here is a short (and I mean very short review of the products that I have of his)

ONE: Incredible, by far his best work in my opinion there is something for everyone in here. An amazing 3,4 phase sandwich routine, one of the craziest two card transpositions ever (impromptu and a borrowed deck). Amazing mentalism with cards. A killer souvenir for the spectator. Plus 5 new slights including 2 new practical forces.

TWO: I have mixed emotions on this one when I first got it i felt a little disappointed, I just felt it was not as good as one. When I re-read it and understood what was going on I saw its worth. There are some nice routines in it but most of the require minimal setup, ie using a duplicate card or a gaff card. But some of the reactions you can get out of this are crazy using this material you can get people to give you the Blaine-esque reactions consistently.

BLOOD: I personally mark every deck I have with this system as soon as I open them that is how much I love this. I was at a party performing one night and someone there was a pit boss from the casino and he saw me aside and asked if i used marked cards for some of my pieces. I handed him the deck and asked him to be the judge. After 6 riffle tests later he could not find them. Later I told a couple of days later that they were in fact marked, however he still did not believe me.

RIP: Nice TnR nothing too special although it happens in the hands of the spectator it does use a gimmick not too practical if you plan on repeating it constantly. Plus I am more of a fan of the slow nature of the more traditional piece by piece visual restorations.

Irreversible: Amazing concept nothing can be said how strong this is.

Memento: The safe way to psychologically force a card. Very nice but if preforming you will defiantly need to do a deck switch unless you use the "impromptu" variation which I often use more mainly because I don't like carrying many decks around. however this method is not at all examinable, whereas using the gimmick the spectator can at least see their card.

DECKN9NE: Nice fairest looking triumph defiantly not going to use this as much though another whole deck switch is needed to make this practical.

OUTLAW: I love this for some unknow reason even though it fails on the same ground that the other two previous effects did. I still use if from time to time if I know I can get away with a deck switch. However I do like using it though for a one effect type thing.

82/73: Interesting concept I love it, semi practical if being repeated but is has the advantage of leaving you with a normal deck of cards.

Devil's Touch: A masterpiece when you read it you will punch yourself in the head because of how simple it is. Powerful tool none the less.

CUT: Interesting concept, very easy however most people don't like it. I personally love it. Most people say you need to use a deck switch to make it practical however I disagree, yes it is not completely examinable but the gimmick is very very easy to control around the deck. I have done full palour type shows using this deck and not once needing to use a deck switch. Like I said the nature of the gimmick is beautiful and can be handled very easliy so you can constantly suffle it around the deck and not worry about anyone expecting anything.

Wow that was only suppose to be about a sentence or two on each product if I missed one I am sorry but if you have any other questions send me a pm.

I only own TWO but I love it. His effects are hard hitting and the methods are bold. Learning his stuff really helped boost my performance confidence when I found I could pull it off!

Cheers!
