Well, I usually have a deck in my hands from the time I get home (3:30) to the time I go to bed (10:00-11:00), but my actual practice time is usually about 3-4 hours a day. On weekends, it depends on how busy I am.

As for performances, I rarely go out to perform, except for new tricks I want to try out or if I am really really bored. I don't get as much pleasure performing as I do creating.

Money on magic yearly? Dunno, probably between 50 and 150 bucks. I don't buy a lot of stuff.

I practice flourishing and magic 3-4 hours on weekday's and about 6-8 hours on weekend.

as for buying stuff, I've only bought like 3-4 DVD's

Wait until you all get interested in girls....you won't even know what practice is anymore!!! :p

Start driving, dating, working....then you'll get your priorities straight and magic will be put on the back burner for a while...or possibly forever. That's not to say you won't stick with it, as I'm sure many magicians do. Just that the practicing part will come to a drastic halt. I'm with Mitchell...performing is my practice. Other than when I'm working on something new, I don't touch a deck of cards unless I'm doing a show or something.

Best.

If by "practice" you mean "actively attempting to improve a particular task", twenty to thirty minutes a day. Usually, I spend that time trying to do a new move I've learned recently. Lately, I've decided to concentrate on the basics and leave the more advanced stuff alone, so I'm working pretty much exclusively on card control with the overhand shuffle.

If you mean "doing stuff with cards", several hours, I don't really pay attention to that.

Always practicing every moment. Whether it's messing with a deck of cards, researching tricks, or practicing the coin roll. Almost always doing something magical. I perform when I feel like it, seeing me perform is an honor. I live on the east coast where there are zero magicians, so it is something new for people to see.

Oh yea, and the spend on magic each year... uhh, way too much when you total it all up. Usually about 2 to 3 orders per month, averaging around 50 to 60 dollars. A few of my orders have exceeded $200 though. But rarely.

Yes, but seeing as I don't usually perform, my practice is practice. Somehow I manage to have a social life.

I am 12 years old and know quite a few magicians on the east coast, myself included.

Not in Raleigh, NC =P

I'm the only magician I know of in this area at all, if there are others I haven't seen or heard of them. We have no magic shops, its "magically quiet" here.

Same. I'm in a very VERY small town in the east coast. No magic shops. None even appear when i google magic shops near so and so. I have only had the chance to go to one magic shop. That was when I went to South Carolina, they had a nice little shop on broadway. But yea.. I don't know of anyone who does magic here. It's sad. :( I have many friends, but having a friend who does magic would be awesome!

Anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour each night. I don't practice a whole bunch, as I have other stuff to do. I spend even less time rehearsing. That's why it takes me so long to add a new effect into my routine/ repoutoire.

Haha, Steve's post was so funny, the first sentence fit me perfectly.

Lets just say I practice a lot, and don't perform that much, I should start doing it on the streets.

But I practice while doing something like watching TV. So it's not boring to do the same tricks over and over.

I try to buy one thing every 2 months, my goal.
