How to remove cellophane without damaging it?

If this is a product question then please move it.
I need some help. Everytime I trey to find the little sticking off edge of the cellophane strip it's not there and so it won't open without damaging the cellophane and I usually have to rip thee cellophane in half.

Maybe get a sharp knife and cut the top off the cellophane and slide the rest off.

Some tricks, one on Ultragaff springs to mind, use the cellophane on the card box.

As DLeerium mentioned above, use an exacto and cut a slit at the top or bottom of whatever it is you're opening. Just one slit along the length of the item and create a flap to allow the container to slide out.
