You need to be your own magician, be original, and come up with your own routines. If you're ready to take magic to the next level (going pro), you need to start doing these things on your own. Sorry, but it's the truth.
For children you do not need a structured to the level of adults. Just keep it visual and simple. Some good pieces are sponge balls, rope tricks and that magic colouring book, doves and rabbits work well too.
For adults there are so many good complete routines out there. Card stunts is nice if that is your thing. Pre-thoughts is amazing mentalism. but you should take these for a couple of shows just too get the feel for them. After a few shows you should really move away from the pro's routine and move onto your own piece's. But it is a very very good for the learning experience to do tested routines.

True. You learn so much more when you create your own routines and tweak them to fit your performing style.
Just ask yourself how you want to connect tricks... What will best lead in to the next trick? Two consecutive tricks don't even have to be physically related as long as you link them together with patter. Creating your own original routines takes time, so don't rush it.
Good luck!
