Illusion Exposed on America's Got Talent

Tonight on America's Got Talent a magician (who will remain nameless) performed the "Shadow Vision" illusion and completely mucked it up. It was pretty much entirely exposed on National Television.
I'm sure over the next few days on magic boards people will be angry that NBC aired the exposure, angry that the producers edited it poorly, and angry that other magicians aren't as angry as they are. However, to me, something FAR more interesting happened next:
The magician, when interviewed by the judges, insisted that NO MISTAKES were made. He said that he intended for everything that happened to happen. This was obviously false to everyone who saw it.
In a post performance interview this magician looked straight into the camera and INSISTED that nothing went wrong. He even said, "This should be perfectly clear... There were no mistakes made." Again... this is completely false. It was obviously a mistake. No question.
The guy's eyes had this kinda crazy look in em... like he realizes he's screwed. He just exposed a major illusion on national network tv.
My question is this: What would you do? I don't think this guy was near adaquately prepared enough, but what if he was. What if you were totally prepared, ready to go and rehearsed, then had the $h!*iest luck on earth and exposed a fairly regularly performed illusion on tv... what would you say?...

Keep my trap shut and let things run their course.

Yeah... I swear, if this guy had said NOTHING and just stood there refusing to talk it would have been less weird. By saying that nothing went wrong he ensured that the producers would show the whole segment and re-run it. This guy's reaction was just... so off the mark.

Agreed. Let it be my friend, people care a lot less about magic than you'd expect them to. I admired the fact that this performer was able to have so much confidence in himself without coming across as egotistical. For that, he gets my respect. Concerning the illusion, who cares?

Chase, this is not the first time an illusion has gone wrong on national television. The worst I've seen was by Blackstone. I believe it was a half time show for the Orange Bowl circa 1987. It was so hilarious! So it happens to the best of magicians. Here is a link to the video.

Ok... Some people have misunderstood my post.

I am NOT upset personally that an illusion was exposed. That's not my personality to be upset by that.

What I was looking for was comments on HOW this guy chose to cover. It was insane.

I know that in basic magic texts everyone learns that if you mess up no one in the audience will know if you don't acknowledge the error. However when your B***K A*T panel falls open in the middle of the trick, denial probably isn't the route to take.
