Yes, you already have everything you need. What do you have, and what sort of things do you use from them? Name some of the sorts of effects you use from the books, and what books they're from, and we'll have a better idea of what you use... I have to say though, the question you asked, was a very beginner question, and a beginner way of phrasing it also.

This question is asked so much. It's about you. Making a trick 'stunning' is about your performance. Now I'm not saying I'm an amazing performer. And I'm definately not amazing at sleight of hand. But presented properly you can do loads with just a few sleights and some patter.

Well when you put it like that...;)
Jussayin' that it's a little misleading posting about Riot on a thread about impromptu magic.

In regards to the original post - magic is only as stunning as you make it. Sorry if this sounds really stupid, but my friend and I recently took a few Less Magical tricks and revamped them. By putting our own twist on it and making it ours, we came up with a very nice effect. Nobody can give you your stunning magic for you, depends on what you like. For example, I have seen Praetoritevong post on several similar threads that his personal favourite trick is Zamiel's Rose. This trick is very nearly impromptu; the very nearly being because of the kicker at the end. However if you are the kind of performer that goes a wandering in the streets, seeking out hapless victims to feast upon (yes, I do mean street magic) and whose routine features an ACR, Angle Zero and Torn Too, I would not recommend Zamiel's Rose. If, however, you sit yourself at a table and prestidigitate classic style, this trick might fit perfectly. It is very visually stunning, just in a totally different way.

So in case I lost you there, I'm asking whether you could be a little more specific as to what you want, and also pointing out that no one trick is better than another - that's for the performer to relay.

The Riot part isn't misleading. What's misleading is that you say you have all these amazing books, and still need material. Practice what you have, I doubt you have learned every impromtu effect from all of the material you have.

Pssst. Riot is the shizzle.

Pssst. Riot is the shizzle.

*Rolls eyes* you're all as bad as each other.

I wouldn't class that as 'misleading', just ignorance. Either that, or you have a different definition of 'awesome' to Chotu. It would help if it was specified what these 'awesome' books were. But still, when somebody asks for impromptu magic, talking about Riot isn't helpful. It's misleading to the point that somebody might purchase it assuming it IS impromptu. Whilst this might not be the end of the world as we know it, it isn't particularly useful either. Not trying to get at anybody here, just mentioning that we could try to be a little more helpful people...

heh. Sorry about the RIOT thang, I just had an awesome day of performing it on my train. And it says RIOT comes with a gimmick right next to the purchase button, so you'd have to be pretty high to miss it. Alas, I apologize.

Anyways, If you're looking for impromptu card magic - I have one tip for you. Get your hands on David Blaine's 2006 street magic special. Whilst all the tricks arent impromptu, the vast majority is - and you can learn them and learn how to present them very easily.

And it's an entretaining watch ;)
