Kaos isn't original?

Hey guys,

I'm posting this only because I wish to know the truth. Please do not post replies saying you are sure it is original when this is simply speculation, I would like anyone who actually knows anything to answer. I mean no offense to anyone with this thread.

I have been told that Kaos is not an original effect. Apparently the person I was talking to has it almost exactly the same in a children's magic book. He can't find it at the moment, but he has promised to get back to be on the name of the book.

Did anybody else know about this?

Also, apparently indecent is also not original?

Thanks,
Huruey

on Theory11.
All I know is that it was a variation of an effect by Sean Beard. That was in the Kaos DVD, though... I had never heard of it before the release of Kaos. Sorry I can't help... Google, maybe?

I don't know about this. The method is pretty ballsy and not something that I would put in a children's magic book. Pretty advanced presentational skills and some misdirection to worry about, too.

No offense to you or your friend, but I'm not buying it without proof (and even with proof, I'll be surprised). Definitely have your friend there get back to us.

Well...You're just- haha. Almost exposed there., but KAOS is the only effect on E that I like. My friend taught it to me (Against my better judgement, I admit) but it's a good effect...I use it sometimes (Rarely so that my reputationpercedes me :))

Who cares, if you know it do it. Thats how people like Dai Vernon and other top magicians back then did it.

Also does it really matter if KAOS or any other trick is original or not? And you E people who hates to see E's product gets bashed just a tiny bit, what if his friend was telling the truth? Stop being in denial.

I can't help but think that that was directed towards me, and I gave my completely rational and logical reasoning behind not believing it. I would have said the same thing if he had claimed that they taught Widespread Panic or the Classic Pass in a children's magic book.

Please don't label me as an 'E person', because I am not. I own a couple of E products; some that I like, some that I don't. I am not, by any means, an 'E person'.

I've never called you an E person, I'm saying this to the people who is a huge E fan...
And I know you've stated a reason, as you can say, I did no way even directed my post towards you... or... hmmm???

Oh, sorry about that. A misunderstanding on my part. You mentioned that 'E people' would be in denial, and I was the only one who had posted in defense of Ellusionist, so I thought you were saying it to me.

Sorry about that!

I would consider myself an "E" person.

I love most of their stuff and order my specialty cards from them all the time.

I also consider myself a "T11" person as well.

and a "P" person and a "Sankey" person.

It's not called an E person...It's an E-Clone..

well back to the effect guys,

I dont think it's original because I think that mostly people have done this effect before it was out, It did'nt look like E was interested in it if you submit it.

My point is that,
I dint have to buy this effect because pretty much the moves is all you have to know to learn this trick.I think Magicians and me would rarely perform this trick because the Misdirection and no one and be behind you during this effect. It is gmmick less but like i said.I will never perform this trick(I actually did this trick the day it came out.I saw the preview and I just performd it my way. After I bought the dvd I felt stupid for buying it.The way did it was the same way The dvd taught it.

Okay this confused me for a while to, but after viewing my friends copy, I had a great epiphone. I wasn't thinking of it the right way. It's like buying a routine. Think of it, as a 3 card monte. Some people pay for both, The Full Monte by Daryl, AND Lee Asher's version. It's 2 different magicians giving their own rendition of a trick. This happens all the time. So It made more sense to me then.

I basically think that the best way to look at it is to watch a band cover a song.

Dream Theater and Queensryche do a wicked version of Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd. They published it, make money off it, Pink Floyd makes 0. It still rocks though and I still own both.
