If you haven't heard of him, visit his site: www.kevinparkerproductions.com

He isone of the magicians I look up to. His tricks are simple, visual, simple, and yet highly effective.

True that there may be better versions, but I believe that his sheer creativity is just remarkable. He is someone I want to be like in a few years. Have a simple site, with my created products, although lots of mine need polishing, etc.

I just wanted to express my feelings toward a pretty low-key magician, who has great effects of his own.

High five to that!

Kevin is one of my all time favourite creators, i've been following his work for the last couple of years, ever since revolution came out, and he never fails to impress me.

Allthought, im not too fussed with his PK stuff.

Everyone go and check him out, he'll melt your brains!

The spectator is given a deck of cards. Magician turns his back to him and tells him to cut the deck to any card he wants and peek at it. After spectator peeks at card, magician tells him the card he peeked at without asking any questions or touching the deck. It's as if he saw it while his back was turned. Uses no svengali, no assistance, no mirrors.

deck can be examined before and after

back is turned to spectator immediately after handing him the deck and while he peeks at the card

very easy to do, instantly repeatable

Kevin Parker is very creative though the only things from him that I thought were worth anything was Revolution and Passing Thru which is THE most visual coin in bottle I have ever seen. Unfortunately his videos are absolutely horrible. The quality, the sound, the lighting, and at times the teaching are just awful. For what he charges that is just not acceptable, in my opinion.

For Descent does it require any gimmicks because I'm not a big fan of gimmicks:)

Thanks
NOt so much a gimmick but you do need a little something. Im not one to be disappointed with methods but this one really disappointed me. Wont work on most glass table tops, pretty much only works on the one in his basement.:D

Kevin is creative, but his teaching skills are not up to par. I have his video Passing Thru, cool trick, but it looks like he made the video in his living room on the couch in his pajamas. Not professional. He needs to go into more detail also.

I need some info about nexus... has anyone performed it?
I wrote this review a little while back...

Review:

This is the second Kevin Parker item I have and it wont be the last. Initialy, I was skeptical about buying Nexus, but it was worth it. It is a completely impromptu, visual linking key on keyring effect. There's nothing more you can ask for.

Quality:

The quality of the download isn't the greatest, on my computer the sound was off on the video so it was quite annoying, but I still learnt the effect. The video wasn't choppy, but the quality itself wasn't amazing, it could have been better, but once again, I still learnt the effect perfectly fine.

Teaching:

The teaching was pretty good. Kevin goes through each step very detailed and tells you everything you need to know for performing the trick. He teaches the right angles, the proper rings and key rings to use, how to handle the keys and everything else.

Method:

The method is genious, it's something that you would think wouldn't work if you thought of it, but when it is put into this much detail, you kick yourself in the head. It is so simple that it works incredibly well. The illusion that this creates is amazing, I still fool myself it the mirror doing this, it looks so real!

My performance:

After practicing this a lot, and I mean a lot, I finally decided to bring this on the streets. The great this about this is that it is impromptu, everything can be borrowed. When I approached my mark, I performed a few tricks prior to Nexus, and then it was time. I asked her if she had a keyring and a ring, she had both, which I wasn't expecting but I was lucky. I proceeded to show her that everything was normal and all of the things I was holding were hers. Then, I proceeded to melt the ring onto the keyring, she freaked, she spun around and let out a HUGE gasp. I told her that it wasn't done and I melted it right off, when I handed the items back, she was speechless, as was I. This was one of the better reactions I have gotten in while.

This is a great trick, and I HIGHLY recommend it. It is incredibly visual and quite easy to learn even if it takes some good practice. If you buy this, I guarantee you that you'll be satisfied!

As for Snype, I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to receive the original method from Kevin around 2-3 years ago. It gets some absolutely PHENOMENAL reactions.

A lot of Kevin's stuff is good, but a lot of it needs to be developed more. For example, Passing Thru is one of the most visual and simple coin thru bottles I have ever seen, and I give Kevin praise for it. Edge, on the other hand, is a good trick, but needs more time. It didn't seem like Kevin took into account a few factors.

Also, the production of his videos is terrible. He definitely needs to get a new camera. If Ellusionist wasn't lying, and it's true that Kevin quit his job because Revolution brought in so much profit, I would think he could afford a good camera if he was planning on releasing more effects.

Overall, I respect Kevin as a magician and creator, but not a producer. He needs to work on his videos and the production of them.

Sorry if this seems like I'm just ragging on Kevin, but it's not. I really like some of his stuff.

Peace,

David

I agree with those that have said he needs to work on his teaching and production.

I think he seems to be a more of a creator, then a teacher/magician. I mean that he focuses more on the trick itself. However, I do believe that hiring someone like Dana Hocking would help out his business tremendously.

His effects are DAMN creative and effective though.
