Hey guys i have some questions. Well i just received 150 dollars!! And im thinking it is a blessing and a curse... How you might ask well because im stressed because i cant decide on effect thats were you kind people come in lol. I do have 150 and heres what i want. Any opinions on any of these would be greatly appreciated. Well first Cell by David stone hard hitting compact mystery box just seems a tad overpriced for what you get that is if you only get one..... Then theres some Sankey effects im considering these effects Bigger Finish, Holy Moly, Holy Stretch, Hijacked, Maybe just maybe Extremely ambitious, And Paper clipped or Astral Projection. Ok the other effects are Ladybug by Paul Vigil,WOW by Masuda,Electric Touch, Or The Gecko. Those are my options other suggestions for other effects are fine but preferably input on those....

Thanks So Much
Adam

save it
if you do want to spend it on magic
get books or multi effect dvds, get the most bang for your buck

theres a website http://www.lybrary.com/index.php that has some great e-books for cheap for pretty much full books on magic, expert at the card table, stuff like that is there, browse that site and buy some cheap e-books filled with effects
go to ashers site, buy close-up secret, his 5 pack pdf, then the mateiu bich pdf, great stuff on those, OH, get catch 33, GREAT stuff form asher

If you are getting any sankey effects buy a dvd that has multiple effects, Revolutionary Card Magic is actually VERY good I would probably get that and Paperclipped because paperclipped teaches many great subtleties and numerous effects you can do. But as for WOW i get great reactions from it but not as good as my Ego change(Houdini Color Change or Coffin change whatever you wanna call it) or my Shapeshifter. It is fun to play with tho I must admit. I would also recommend getting a book Like the Art of Astonishment by Paul Harris. Hope this helps :)

What wow thats a bad suggestion Sankey has some great material especially his multi trick DVDs. His DVDs are especially good for beginners because of all of the material on them. The Trilogy is good if your into that kind of magic but I think it is a bit WRONG to say not to buy ANY of his stuff because it is clearly obvious that YOU don't like his work but don't try and make steer him away from Sankey let him decide for himself. Sankey has put out some really good pieces of magic and I think that it is unfair for you to try and degrade his work by calling it predictable.

Since you edited your post i forgive you :) lol jk

I did not mean that, i actually have a lot of his DVDs and do lots of his tricks but i don't really like the new things like extremely ambitious as most likely there will be repetition of tricks but sorry if i got the idea that he shouldn't get ANY sankey dvds or that jay sankey is not good, because he is really creative and did lots of good dvds and i love some of his work

I do infact own the trilogy. Sankeys many effect dvds seem good but you can ever be sure theres no performance the one i want since im always in search of a TnR so i wanted anytime anywhere for the green thumb but i prefer his single effects they always served me well....

Ask yourself these questions then you'll be able to narrow it down :)

  • What do I like?
  • What will my audience like?
  • What looks entertaining?
[*]Where could I go with this effect? - What could I do to make it my own?
  • What am I going to get the most out of?
[*]What can I see myself amazing people with? - What am I going to be known for being amazing at?
  • Why are there so many questions?
  • Seriously why?

If you answer these, you'll be able to narrow it down. It's tough when there's a lot out on the market but I've underlined what I think are the most important questions to ask yourself.
