great job i know how this is done and can tell you performed it very well, i personaly would use this as a control but i wouldn't reveil that it was on the top right away, i would wait until later in the effect

yeah reality check michael paul on thementalplayground.com

so i checked this out and it doesnt utilize this exact move. He does a tenkai steal from putting the card to the middle, but he puts it on top right away. Brad Christian (sp.) teaches this way too in one of his ninja dvds. I also checked his reality displacement move which starts out similar but ends totally different. maybe people dont even get what im doing....

You'll find a lot of that. Magicians insisting they know what they're seeing - apparently it's meant to show off their knowledge. Or they can tell how a trick is done, and that's meant to make them a better magician. Or something like that.

Anyway, if you want to check originality, two good people to run it past would be Brad Henderson (if he doesn't know it, it probably doesn't exist), or Medifro, who also has great knowledge of sleights. Give them a PM and see what they say.

On an unrelated note, easy way to fool a magician. Pretend to do a sleight and they'll automatically assume they've seen what's happening and know exactly what's about to happen.

keeping the unrelated note going for a second, i went a richard turner lecture the other day, and he did an "obivious" double lift, and set the card(s?) back onto the deck facedown and set the card on the table. When asked where it was, an entire unsion of magicians cried out "on top of deck!" but to thier suprise, it was the card on the table. Long story short, they felt dumb.

The only thing this reminds me of is Geriant Clarke's control move, but he controls the card to the top rather than the bottom, maybe you could ask him for more information on the move.

yeah i put a note in the video stating that it WAS NOT the outjogged hermann shift because it looks similar but is entirely different and i didnt want little douchebag youtube magicians telling me how to make my hermann shift better.

Thanks for the feedback I will try to run this by some people to check out any originality.

Ask Bill Palmer on The Magic Cafe about the originality.
