Mucking in Magic

Does anyone use card mucking actively in his or her card magic, outside of gambling demos? I feel as though mucking can be used beneficially in card magic, just like most switches are used as utility moves. Has anyone applied this before? or at least, what are your thoughts on it? I know some think mucking should be kept strictly for gambling demonstrations.

There is an Effect In
Magic Magazine April 2006
Called 'Muck You' By Derek Delgaudio
And it can also be found Disc 3 of the Talk About Tricks Set.

Its sort of a transpo in the spectators hands almost but with sort of a muckking demonstration. Though im not sure if its what you are looking for i just thought i might put it out there.

I've heard about it before, but what exactly is Mucking?
tried to search, but came out empyhanded..

Mucking (someone correct me if im wrong) is getting rid of cards after, switches, or other moves where you have unwanted cards

Mucking is switching cards in play. It may involve palming, but palming can be used for other purposes too, for example to nullify a cut.

Thank you mini magician i will look up that source. But i was just looking for more of a discussion about who has experimented, or has experience with, using mucking in card magic. As well as how successful it has been, such as what reactions ppl get.

I feel as though it could be a powerful too, but at the same time, i find it hard to think of misdirection for the move, because although you are using a big action to cover a smaller one, you are still clearing touching and looking at the cards.

In Steranko on Cards, there are a couple of effects that use a muck-style move to lap and switch in cards from lateral palm. Derren Brown uses this technique in "Doublethink" from The Devil's Picturebook, and on his TV series.

Definitely because usually all the focus and the tension will be on the movement of the card so most of the focus is on that card. Unless for example you have 4 cards 2 of each one. and you cleanly put down a single card and you have another card in your hand. Then you could have another card in the other hand a Dupe to your palmed one and the face down one.

Then so a shake change as you do the Muck so it looks like you sort of waved your hand over and they swap places you know?

Hopefully you get what i mean.

But definitely look up that source man.
