Hey, not too bad. I know this was a beginners effort, but for me, there are a few things that need work. #1 the music was too slow and boring, I had to fight to keep interest. Find more exciting music next time. Also, try to video yourself in different locales. Just on the balcony, the the concrete as your canvas, it was kind of plain. Also there were some editing effects thrown in that didn't enhance the flourishes in anyway. Make sure that you have a reason for putting in effects like that.

In regards to the flourishes themselves, not bad for 8 months. Just keep practicing and things will get smoother. When you're springing cards, do it as slowly as you can, also spread your hands out farther.

Not a bad try for only 8 months of flourishing but I think that quite a bit of things could be improved substantially. I would say that one of the biggest things you need to work on is the smoothness of your flourishing. Your hands seem really, really tense and you seem to be struggling quite a bit. Maybe that is just the way I perceived it. However, you must remember that if you are smooth, you will appear to be fast. Daren Yeow had a quote that said..."Smoothness gives the illusion of speed". I try to follow that quote and you should try it too. Now onto the actual flourishes.

I didn't particularly enjoy that thumb fan with the Carnahan to make the S because the S really fell apart after you put them together. If you try and work on a more efficient way to do it, it would look much better. Next, as Mr.JetEyeNight mentioned, your spring is the most tense thing in the video. Why did you rush it so much? Springs look much, much better when performed slowly. Try watching this tutorial and copying them exactly. Then you may work on your own style.

The rest of the flourishes were good on creativity but looked pretty sloppy. I think that if you work on smoothness though, they will look a lot better.

Good luck. You have some tough competition this year!

The two above mentioned this earlier, but oh well. One, speed. It wasn't that smooth, nor fast, but that'll get better over time. Just keep practicing. Next, tense. You seem all "uptight", try to relax a little bit. And that fan which is shaped like an S fell apart. If you can do one-handed fans with both hands, try that. I find it works a lot better, so.... yeah.

Thanks for your feedback!

Your welcome. Just keep in mind, when you're taking video of yourself jamming, flourish in different areas. It's also nice to take video of the vista in which you are performing. Include interesting music. How you edit can add so much to a performance. Done poorly it can take away from a great performance.
