Hey Everyone! So here is my performance of rapture which also included my presentation on this effect. I believe that this presentation is perfect for table hopping in restaurants since you're not asking the audience "Would you like to see a magic trick?" With my presentation, I believe that the audience will be interested in what you're going to do right from the start and they can also witness some magic within 5 seconds at the table.
On a side note, I just learned this effect literally an hour before I uploaded the video and I think I can perform without any flashes, but if you see any, please let me know. Thanks!

You execute it without flashing as far as one watching could tell.

However, the patter makes no sense. For one, we were looking at the deck (since that's the only thing we had to look at) five seconds before you began. It wasn't in the box, so going back five seconds means .. nothing. Then going back five seconds more and it's back out of the box? Why are you just taking the cards in and out of the box? Makes no sense, holds no magic.

Personally, it seems to me like you think the method is the magic. That's not really how it works.

Couldn't agree more. It doesn't make any sense, it's no good. And it would not work for restaurant/table hopping, trust me on that one.
Also you did flash, on your right hand side. Practice the handling and use different patter.

When I said about 5 seconds, it's just an approximation in the case of this video because I haven't film myself to determine how long time has pass between each sequence. When I perform in the real world, I take the cards out of the box in front of the spectators, put the box in my pocket and say that I will go back about 15 seconds to the point where the cards are still in the box. After I made the box appear I will say but let's go back to about 10 seconds (counting from the present) to the point where the cards are still in the box(after the point where I made the box appear), and then finish the trick. The constant appearing and disappearing of the box will be justified by me saying "Oh sorry, I meant to do a coin trick"(then as an afterthought)"Well, let's do the card trick first". I hope that made sense.
Oh and Toby, thank you for pointing that out. I wonder why no one notices!

You're welcome :)
However, I still don't like the patter (and to be honest, I don't like the trick in general either). It still doesn't make sense why would you take the cards out of the box, then back in the box, then out of the box, then saying about a coin trick, just to change your mind again for the 15th time to do a card trick. It seems like you have no idea what you are doing or why are you doing it.
Rapture would only make sense if you do a time travel card trick, and then as a closer, put the cards in the box in a magical way, and put them away like that (if that's possible with Rapture, I don't know, I don't own the trick). Take a look at Gregory Wilson's routine on his "Pyrotechnic Pasteboards" DVD for a good time travel routine.
